Mold during monsoonOliverMake no mistake, the quality of these frames matches the low price. But as long as you handle them carefully and don't change the pictures frequently, they certainly do their job, and even look quite nice. I was happy with them until the monsoon came, and the air humidity went up. When I took them down for cleaning, like two months into the monsoon, month mold had started to grow on the backside fiberboards. And I'm not speaking of one or two small patches. Actually the entire backside was grown over with green mold, and when I opened them there was even mold on the inner side of the fiberboards. This affected all Ikea frames I had put up in the hall, but not any of the other brands. Also, the same Ikea frames kept in our a/c bedroom had no mold. My assumption is that the fiberboards are made of some insufficiently cleaned recycled materials. It's pretty disgusting.
