It’s heavy despite particle board construction VatsalEasy to assemble and fits majority of clutters from desk to keep it inside. Quality is good but drawers fitting is not perfect some of the drawers come out a bit and looks awkward. Fitting is easy but not easy to lift and move after completing the installation if parts. You will need a second person to easily move it around. Also it will need some organisers and mat to avoid slipping of things around while opening and closing the drawers. Must have product to use it under desk to keep your things close when not in use and keep them inside to avoid getting dusty. 5

Not for India ShwetaThe drawers look great. And they open and close well. And putting them together is smooth, no problem. But… this design is just not made for India. The drawers have an opening which can be used as a handle to pull the drawer out, without needing an external handle. But that makes them a gateway for dust to get into the drawers. Dust gets in really quickly and coats everything inside the drawer with a month, and I have to clean everything inside the drawer every month. Means this is useless as a drawer and very well may have been an open shelf. This design probably works abroad where the environment doesn’t have much dust. Recommend the IKEA team to design drawers which will be completely closed, making them suitable for Indian environment. 1

This is a very versatile piece that you can use for a variety of purposes. Assembly was not particularly difficult. Very sturdy piece. I anticipate having it for a very long time.

This Alex unit as the title says is sturdy and affordable. It is good looking, has lots of storage and was easy to assemble although it took a while. Highly recommend.

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
