Three easy tips for storing your bicycle at home

It can get difficult to find a proper place to keep your bicycle within the walls of your home. Just have a look at the tips below to make it easier.

A sliding length of fabric hides a bike hung from a rail underneath wall cabinets in a hallway, shoe mats under the wheels.

A journey from the road to hanging mid-air

A bicycle is not only practical but is also good-looking. At least that’s what every bike-owner thinks! So why not treat it like the piece of art it is? Using hooks, keep the bicycle out of the way, easy to reach and suspended in mid-air for everyone to admire.

Anytime and in any weather

If you use the bicycle frequently, a space that’s easy to reach and clean (in case of bad weather) is required. Place a few protective mats and hide your bicycle behind a length of fabric in a convenient spot. It stays close at hand and stylishly hidden from sight.

Transform your cabinets into a bicycle stand

The cabinets should be strong enough to bear the bicycle’s weight. But, it is not all up to them. We have secured the bicycle to the wall by a bracket with a separate, vertical knob (see the detail image for a clearer understanding). Placing a few clear sheets of drawer mats over the cabinet tops will protect the surfaces from dirt and scratches while being discreet.

We love to see our customers get creative with our products. Go for it! But please note that altering or modifying IKEA products so they can no longer be re-sold or used for their original purpose, means the IKEA commercial guarantees and your right to return the products will be lost.
