How do I remove a sticker from my product?
Suggestions on how to remove sticker residue from IKEA products.
There are various methods available for removing sticker residue. Make your selection based on the approach you believe will harm your product's surface the least.
Please find the ways of removal:
- The product can be submerged in a solution of hot water and soap. Next, attempt to remove the residue with a dull knife edge.
- Adhesives may usually be successfully dissolved with acetone. Take caution because they can also remove a product's surface finish, such as melamine or lacquer.
- The sticky side of a piece of tape can be used to pull the residue off the surface of a product.
- Treat the area with mineral oil. After a few moments, wipe away the oil using a clean cloth. If the sticker residue is still present, use a pencil eraser to rub off the remaining sticker residue.
- Ask your local hardware store to recommend a commercial adhesive-removing product that is non-toxic. Orange oil, for example, is very effective at removing the gummy residue from stickers.
