What steps does IKEA recommend for care and maintenance of their rugs?

Depending on the model we have a different maintenance

In general, we recommend:
  • Vacuum your rug regularly to prevent dirt and use a vacuum cleaner especially on high-pile rugs
  • Turn the rugs frequently to make them last longer and prevent them from sticking to the floor.
  • Direct sunlight can fade rug colors over time, use blinds or curtains to protect your rug.
  • Avoid keeping rugs in high-moisture areas like bathrooms or kitchens,
  • Do not machine wash.
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not dry clean.
