At IKEA we have some common layouts such as

Straight-line kitchens (one row) : A straight-line kitchen, also known as a one-wall kitchen, is a layout where all the kitchen components, including cabinets, appliances, and work areas, are arranged along a single wall.

L-shape (one corner) : An L-shaped kitchen, also known as a one-corner kitchen, features two perpendicular countertops and cabinets that form an "L" shape. 

  • Key feature : It's versatile and works well in both small and large kitchens, providing ample space for cooking and organizing kitchen essentials .

U-shape (two corners) : A U-shaped kitchen, also known as a horseshoe kitchen, is a layout where countertops and cabinets are arranged along three adjoining walls, forming a "U" shape. This design maximizes counter space and storage, creating an efficient work triangle between the stove, sink, and refrigerator.

  • Key feature :A U-shaped kitchen features three walls of countertops and cabinets, maximizing counter space and storage while creating an efficient work triangle.

Adding a kitchen island can enhance various kitchen layouts by providing additional counter space, storage, and a social hub.
