  1. Get inspired - what does your dream kitchen look like?
You probably already have an image in your head of your dream kitchen. The IKEA kitchen range covers every design preference from a sleek and modern, high-tech kitchen to traditional kitchens with beautiful natural materials. We have tons of inspirational material available on our online kitchen page. If you prefer to also get a feel for our materials, there is no better way than to visit one of our IKEA stores near you.

If you would like some support in discovering all of the possibilities, we recommend booking an appointment with one of our kitchen specialists. We can help you from the comfort of your own home or in one of our IKEA stores.
  2. Make it fit - measure the room where your new kitchen will be placed
When it comes to kitchens, every millimeter counts. That’s why it’s important to measure your space exactly, including the position of doors, windows, radiators and other obstructions. When you provide these measurements, we can help you make sure you can make optimal use of the space you have available.

If you are happy to take these measurements yourself, then please follow our measuring instructions. If you need help, for measuring services please call us on 18004194532.
  3. Plan your kitchen - create your first kitchen design online or let us help you
When you’ve decided on your dream kitchen and know the measurements of your kitchen space, you’re ready to move on to the planning phase. Using your measurements and your personal preferences, you can start building a kitchen plan.

In this stage, it’s also important to set your budget. We offer different kitchen solutions for every budget. If you are looking for a quick and simple kitchen solution for a great price, then you should consider our ENHET range of kitchen. If you have a specific style in mind or want more flexibility and have the option to expand your budget, then our METOD range is your best choice.

Navigate to our online kitchen planner tools to get started right away on building a plan for your dream kitchen. If you would like an IKEA kitchen specialist to help you create your dream kitchen, then we recommend booking an appointment with one of our kitchen specialists.
  4. Making a decision - review your kitchen design, price offer and finalize your dream kitchen
After creating your first kitchen design, you probably need some time to consider your options to make a final decision. You may want to visit one of our IKEA stores to see and touch the items in your plan, or you may prefer to plan a follow up appointment with our IKEA kitchen specialists later to discuss your options. We encourage you to make a well-informed decision as you are likely to buy a new kitchen a few times in your lifetime.

There are several items in your kitchen design that will have a big impact on the final price offer: your selection of doors and drawer fronts, your kitchen appliances and the kitchen worktop. IKEA offers a wide range of doors, appliances and worktops in every budget, and changing these in your design may result in a big change in the price quote of your kitchen. You can easily change these items in our kitchen design, our planner tools will show you an updated price quote immediately.

If you are happy with your final design but are wondering about the possibilities for financing your kitchen purchase, please review our available financial services or ask your IKEA kitchen specialist for the possibilities.
  5. Placing your kitchen order - purchasing the kitchen and arranging delivery and installation
When you are ready to proceed with your order, we recommend to either visit one of our stores, plan an order booking appointment or reaching out directly to the IKEA kitchen specialist that you’ve been in contact with before.

When your kitchen order is being placed, you will also arrange final dates for the delivery and installation of your kitchen. If you prefer to install your new kitchen yourself, our kitchen specialist will help you with all your questions and guidance on how to get started.

  6. Receiving your kitchen - being prepared for the delivery of all your kitchen items
To make sure you are able to receive the large number of items that are needed for a new kitchen, we highly recommend you fully clear either the kitchen space itself or another space directly next to it for placing the boxes, appliances and worktop.

Make sure the route to this space is clear of any obstacles and ensure there is enough room for the largest items of your order to be carried through hallways and stairways. If these items cannot be carried to the room by hand but have to be delivered by means of a crane, lift or other mechanical equipment, make sure there is easy access and plenty of room around your house for this equipment on the day of delivery.

After the delivery has been completed, check your item list and make sure all items have been delivered. Also verify that there is no visible damage anywhere on the items delivered. If you see that something is not right after delivery, please reach out to your IKEA kitchen specialist or our customer support so that we can help you find a quick and efficient solution before the installation of your kitchen starts.

  7. Installing your new kitchen - bringing your dream kitchen to life
Whether you’re installing your kitchen yourself or using the IKEA kitchen installation service, we’ll make sure the process is as easy as possible.

If you need some additional guidance when installing the kitchen yourself, our kitchen installation instruction videos and our kitchen installation guide may be of help to you.

If you have any questions during the installation process when using our IKEA kitchen installation service, please discuss them directly with the installation provider.
