The door of my IKEA dishwasher does not open and close properly. What can I do?
You can solve most problems with opening and closing your dishwasher yourself. The installation or user manual will often help you find the right solution. Can't figure it out? Please contact us, we will be happy to help you!
All IKEA dishwashers come with an integrated sliding hinge. This sliding hinge ensures that the kitchen front that you place on the dishwasher door slides upwards when you open the door of the dishwasher. This allows the door to be opened completely without the underside of the kitchen front touching the plinth or the underside of the dishwasher.
Slide hinge does not function properly
Immediately after installation does the slide hinge not seem to function as it should? Usually this can be solved by loosening the screws that are placed on the side of the dishwasher. In the installation instructions, these are often indicated with the image of a padlock. These screws are covered with a protective cover after installation. Remove this protective cover on both sides and loosen the screws. Check that the door is now opening and closing correctly.
Sliding hinge no longer functions properly
After a period of use it is also possible that the dishwasher door no longer opens and closes properly after a longer period of use. Sometimes this is accompanied by a crackling or squeaking sound. Always check first that the dishwasher door or kitchen front does not rub against anything when opening or closing. If this is the case, you will probably need to re-level the dishwasher.
Is the dishwasher properly leveled and does the problem persist? Please contact our Service partner for kitchen appliances or contact us.
