Kitchen lighting in 4 easy steps

With our lighting hubs, you can connect and control your kitchen lights in just a few steps, making every drawer, cabinet and work surface easy to see and use. Once installed, the hub lets you manage your lights with a remote or app, so your kitchen is ready for everything from breakfast prep to late‑night snacks.

Here are 4 simple steps to get your perfect kitchen lighting.

1. Choose your lighting

You have lots of kitchen lighting options to suit your needs.

  • Worktop lighting makes cooking, chopping, and prepping easier, safer, and more enjoyable with a bright, even light across your surfaces.
  • Cabinet lighting highlights shelves and spaces around your kitchen, so everything is easy to see.
  • Integrated drawer lighting with sensors and dimming gives a clear view inside your drawers and switches on automatically when you open them.
  • Battery-operated lighting is a flexible option that’s quick and simple to install, no wiring needed.

2. Choose your driver

Choose between the ANSLUTA LED driver 19 W, the TRÅDFRI LED driver 10 W, or the TRÅDFRI LED driver 30 W to connect multiple lights to a power outlet, making cabinet and bookcase lighting easy to install. TRÅDFRI LED drivers allows dimming or smart control when used with a remote control or the DIRIGERA hub, giving you more flexibility and features through the IKEA Home smart app. 

Good to know: You can connect up to 10 TRÅDFRI LED drivers in one installation with FÖRNIMMA connection cords between drivers. 

With ANSLUTA LED driver 19 W, you can connect up to 6 light sources to the LED driver, as long as the total wattage does not exceed 19W. Power supply cord included. You can turn all connected light sources on and off with a single switch. Cannot be dimmed, used with a remote, or connected to the DIRIGERA hub or IKEA Home smart app.

With TRÅDFRI LED driver 10 W, you can connect up to 3 light sources, as long as the total wattage does not exceed 10 W. To be completed with FÖRNIMMA power supply cord, sold separately. Connect to the DIRIGERA hub and IKEA Home smart app for extra features.

With TRÅDFRI LED driver 30 W, you can connect up to 9 light sources, as long as the total wattage does not exceed 30 W. To be completed with FÖRNIMMA power supply cord, sold separately. Connect to the DIRIGERA hub and IKEA Home smart app for extra features.

3. Add your cords

To connect your lighting to the TRÅDFRI LED driver, you only need a FÖRNIMMA power supply cord. If you mount several MITTLED worktop lightings, you need 1 VÅGDAL connection cord for each group of lighting strips to connect the lighting to TRÅDFRI LED driver. This allows you to connect several lamps with only one connection to the mains supply.

Good to know: If you decide to use several TRÅDFRI LED drivers then you need to complement FÖRNIMMA connection cords between drivers.

3. Add your cords

To connect your lighting to the TRÅDFRI LED driver, you only need a FÖRNIMMA power supply cord. If you mount several MITTLED worktop lightings, you need 1 VÅGDAL connection cord for each group of lighting strips to connect the lighting to TRÅDFRI LED driver. This allows you to connect several lamps with only one connection to the mains supply.

Good to know: If you decide to use several TRÅDFRI LED drivers then you need to complement FÖRNIMMA connection cords between drivers.

4. Choose a remote control or DIRIGERA hub

The remote control lets you turn your lights on or off and dim them for the right mood. You can also connect your lights to the DIRIGERA hub and the IKEA Home smart app to control multiple lights from your phone.
The DIRIGERA hub works as a Matter bridge, so your smart lights are compatible with Apple Home & Siri, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa. The IKEA Home smart app is available on the App Store (iOS 16.4 or later) and Google Play (Android 10 or later).

4. Choose a remote control or DIRIGERA hub

The remote control lets you turn your lights on or off and dim them for the right mood. You can also connect your lights to the DIRIGERA hub and the IKEA Home smart app to control multiple lights from your phone.
The DIRIGERA hub works as a Matter bridge, so your smart lights are compatible with Apple Home & Siri, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa. The IKEA Home smart app is available on the App Store (iOS 16.4 or later) and Google Play (Android 10 or later).
