Our safety feature Anchor and unlock enhances the safety of your chest of drawers by significantly reducing, but not completely eliminating, the tip-over risk.
The safety feature means that the chest of drawers must be anchored to the wall in order to open more than two drawers at a time, which creates a safer environment at home.
By anchoring the chest of drawer to the wall, you unlock the safety feature and can open all the drawers simultaneously when needed.
A wide chest of drawers gives you plenty of storage space as well as room for lamps or other items you want to display on top.

AwfulAnonymous reviewerDo you want a set of drawers that could wake up the whole house with clunky and scraping? Drawers that may or may not open? Look no further than the heap of rubbish known as Vihals. This waste of time and materials has a “safety feature” that prevents tipping. That feature is a locking mechanism, except it isn’t ‘disengaged’ when all the drawers are closed, so the first drawer you open has to click out of the mechanism (it clicks it 90 degrees to then lock the rest) Sooth and effective? No, loud and glitchy, it regularly catches, preventing the drawer from being opened, even when everything else is closed. The drawer rails are not smooth either, scraping and squeaking. Hideous.
The build was a nightmare. Brute force regularly required as things didn’t fit correctly, many of the corners already had damage but crumbled during build. Sadly I’m disabled so cannot simply return this. I’m done with IKEA, clearly the quality is gone.

Would buy again if we required another chest of drawers.

Dire instructions Anonymous reviewerPlease can you use words sometimes as pictures are not always sufficient. On some of the stages it is not clear which way some fittings go. Took me 5 hours to put together…..also, when did you start using plastic fittings instead of metal? Very cheap and this makes the furniture less stable. Some things just should not be cost cutting exercises.

Why would you ever need to anchor this to a wall?Anonymous reviewerI'd genuinely like to see someone demonstrate how this chest of drawers could possibly tip over if it isn't anchored to a wall. It's far too low and wide to top, which makes the 'safety' mechanism a total waste of time and essentially just an inconvenience. The drawers also sit leaving overly large and inconsistent gaps between their frontages and the edges of the chest and the holes at the rear, ostensibly for anchoring, leave a hole that makes it overly easy for moths to get in at woolens. Really poor for the price.
Nice chest of drawers but a huge hassleAnonymous reviewerThis is a nice chest of drawers but it is a COLOSSAL hassle to assemble and the instructions are not great at all. You will need two people and 2-3 hours at least to assemble it, and that's without anchoring it to the wall.
