Reviews

Works wonderfulAnonymous reviewerThe underneath has provided excellent extraction services.5
If you want to cancel Christmas buy this…Anonymous reviewerWe have just had a new kitchen installed (which we love, thank you) but said new kitchen included one of these expensive extractors. After just 4 uses there was a horrible smell, a grinding noise, a huge pop and I was plunged into darkness. Even though it is a new but FAULTY unit, I cannot receive a replacement but have to sit and wait for a new part. The kicker is, that said new part isn’t available until after the 29th. So there goes Christmas in our brand new kitchen because I was told that to use a kitchen without a working extractor voids a warranty. Ridiculous.. I have argued my point during many a phone call to both Hotpoint (the makers) and Ikea and still no resolution other than us having to cancel Christmas and wait.1
Knob brokenAnonymous reviewerThe knob to switch it on or off is broken. Just fell into my hand after 2 years of light use. Product comes with 5 year guarantee. Tried to contact the guarantee provider (Hotpoint) following IKEA instructions. Provider doesn't acknowledge the guarantee, saying the hood is not a Hotpoint appliance (the brand is Faber) and I have to pay if I want the hood knob fixed! Then they said to contact IKEA because it's their guarantee. They gave me an inexistent number. I tried to contact IKEA by telephone, but they never answer the phone. This appliance is very expensive and obviously the parts are very low quality. The replacement knob costs nearly £50 to replace! This appliance is extremely noisy as well and the extraction isn't that great. I regret purchasing it at IKEA. 1
Worst experience ever , disappointing Anonymous reviewerIt was the worst appliance I've ever had , and has the worst guarantee service I've ever seen. I ordered this with a full kitchen from Ikea, but as I was busy with installing the whole kitchen I just installed and used this hood 3weeks after delivery date and it was broken after 2 weeks of barely using it. It's now more than a month we don't have a hood and guarantee company failed to repair it after 3 appointments and they still insist to repair it in further appointments and refuse to exchange or refund it because it was broken after one month of delivery, and Ikea customer service doesn't do anything about it. It's a bad quality appliance which no one takes the responsibility of it. Disappointed with Ikea and will never buy any other appliance from Ikea.1
Looks good, rubbish performance. Anonymous reviewerBought with a full kitchen from ikea. Installed professionally. Extracted through 150mm duct to exterior. Really, really, really poor performance. What a disappointment for a £400+ product. 1
Awesome 👍Anonymous reviewerRead some bad reviews so wasn’t too sure but soo happy with this extractor fan! It’s more powerful then i expected and soo quiet also especially on highest setting! Our only issue was that we had built the cupboard before opening the box to the extractor fan! Bad move as we then had to pretty much dissemble half the cupboard as it’s built for multi purpose. Worth i, considering i can only blame myself anyways 5
GreatAnonymous reviewerLooks great and works really well. Love the little pop in and out button too. Easy to install too 5
Underverk extractor blew up Anonymous reviewerBad smell, electrical pop and gone. Installed for less than three months. Not sure I could recommend. Let’s see how the warranty is managed. 1
Breaks easilyAnonymous reviewerNice extractor, however in less than 2 years the control knob has frequently fallen out. Now it has become completely stuck and needs to be fixed by an electrician. As this product is almost £500, this isn’t really robust enough at all.2
Good extraction power and sleek designAnonymous reviewerThe extractor hood has powerful suction and works good with my kitchen space. The design is integrated in the kitchen unit which tucks away in a perfect way not seen.5

Quality

Sensitive to noise or have an open-plan home?

For extractor hoods, a noise level below 60 dB is considered low – roughly equivalent to a normal conversation between two people. We measure the noise level of our hoods at max speed, making it easier to compare different models. Note that sound levels decrease at lower speeds, and recirculating hoods are typically louder than those vented outdoors. Noise may also increase if the ducting is long or has several bends, as the air has to work harder to pass through the system.

Function solution

Sound levels

Sound levels for appliances are measured in decibels (dBs). Our extractor hoods have been tested in speed 3 to determine the dB level. The sound level of your extractor hood is affected by: • Type of installation. Exhaust-mode or recirculation-mode. • Length and diameter of the exhaust pipe between extractor and exhaust vent. The longer it is and the smaller the diameter, the louder it gets. • 90° bends. The more bends you have in the exhaust pipe, the greater the sound.
