Bring Back MalmAnonymous reviewerFeels cheaper than Malm, the drawers especially. The instructions are very difficult to follow compared to the Malm ones. It seems when you have put the drawers in the unit you can't get them out again ? Having said all that the unit looks good when finished.

Bring back Malm!Anonymous reviewerAll I can say is bring back the Malm range! This set of drawers is less flimsy than the bigger drawers but due to the introduction of the mechanism to stop more than one drawer being opened at a time, the internal dimensions of the drawers are smaller, as well as the overall size being smaller so you are not getting the same storage as you were before.
The back of this has MDF panels which makes the unit more sturdy but there is a gap all along the top (rather than just the small cut out there used to be for the wall fixings) &, I assume so the 2 MDF panels can be used interchangeably, there are 2 holes in the middle of the back & there is nothing to plug them - has nobody ever heard of spiders!! Also, there is no little dots to dampen the noise when the drawers close - it's all for profit I assume!
Such a disappointmentAnonymous reviewerThis is such a downgrade from the Malm that it appears to have replaced. The quality is so low now. Scuffs and chips on the parts straight out the box and it feels sooo flimsy. I would return if it wouldn’t cost me £25 in fuel to do a round trip back to the shop.
I have had various Malm furniture since 2010 and never had any problems until I had to re-buy this year. So disappointed and if I had known, I would have spent the extra to transport my old furniture to my new house instead of giving it away to friends.
Giving it two star because at least it stands up and holds things when it’s constructed.
Malm was betterAnonymous reviewerA change of construction method which I do not think is as good as Malm which was superior. Made worse by a plastic lug on the main floor panel snapped off and missing - if it’s not broken don’t try to fix it…… IKEA, stick with Malm

The product itself is great, but there are lots of very similar parts and the pictures in the instructions are unclear. It’s often difficult to tell which piece goes where or how it should be positioned, so I found myself double- or triple-checking everything, and in some places checking four or five times.
A build that should take 30–45 minutes ended up taking much longer. The build isn’t complicated, but it’s unlike any drawers I’ve built before, making clear instructions even more important.
Overall, great product, but the instructions need significant improvement.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!Anonymous reviewerWe love Ikea, most of our furniture is Ikea and we purchased two of these as they looked exactly what we were looking for. Que trying to build. We only got as far as box 1. Nothing matched hardly matched up it was incredibly frustrating and really disappointing! We returned both chest of drawers to hopefully exchange for the Malm ones to find they have actually been discontinued and these ones are the replacement! BIG MISTAKE IKEA!!!
Complicated buildAnonymous reviewerThe drawers look good when built, but compared to the Malm drawers the build is way more complicated and the instructions not as clear. I had to go back and change things a couple of times and it took quite long. I could build malm drawers with my eyes closed.
Finished result is good, but the build is disappointing.

Why such a complicated buildAnonymous reviewerBought two of these for my mother. Having assembled several Malm sets, thought it would be easy. How wrong was I. Solid but possibly the worst thing I have ever assembled. The instructions are not clear at all. Not looking forward to assembling the second one!

Just needs to highlight that one of the thicker screws is different.
