Front panel incorrectly drilledAnonymous reviewerFirstly one set of holes on one of the 2x front panels was only marked, not properly drilled out. Ok, fine - easily overcome with careful use of a hand drill to allow fitment of the side panels.
Less forgivable - all 4x sets of holes for the sides (two sets per front-panel) had been drilled too close to the routed slot for the base-board to sit into, meaning the sides overhang the slot and prevent the base-board from seating.
We’ve tried every orientation of those sides and they overhang in each position. Unacceptable. Forcing the base to fit would likely cause damage. Faced with the decision as to whether to return (a painfully long wait in our local store) or use a router to take a few mm off the edge of the base-board to allow it to seat.
Either way, as an experienced IKEA flat-pack builder, this is a disappointing kit from the firm.
