If only I could get the wheels on…!Anonymous reviewerI wasn’t able to arrange Click & Collect at my local Brighton store for this item (I’m still unsure why), so I ended up travelling 40 miles to collect it from Croydon instead.
Unfortunately, once I got home, what should have been a simple job turned into a frustrating experience. Two hours later, I was still struggling to fit the casters over the plastic notches. After searching online and reading reviews, I discovered I’m far from the only person having this issue. The common advice seems to be that you need a rubber mallet to get them on properly (sliding them in the frame is easy but getting them over the notches is another story) — but realistically, not everyone has one of those at home.
Surely IKEA could redesign this to make assembly easier and more user-friendly. For now, the container sits empty until I can find someone with the right tools to help finish the job.
Perfect understairs storage boxAnonymous reviewerI was looking for a medium box on wheels that I can easily take out from my understairs store, it's so awkward to utilise. Now I can easily wheel the box out and store various items in it. It's sturdy,easily assembled and ideal for this space, lid helps things tidy.
Lids not great qualityAnonymous reviewerI bought three of these to form the base of some underbench storage that could be easily wheeled out and stowed away as needed. Love the wheels -I had a plastic head hammer which made them easy to slot into position. The container seems fine it’s just the lids are a bit of a let down - they don’t seem very strong, the plastic seems a bit brittle. I haven’t had them very long and a piece has already snapped off the side of one of the lids. There is no IKEA store near to where I live so not easy to replace. I am not comfortable stacking another box on top of these as I was intending as I’m not sure the lid would support that. Not the usual IKEA quality
