Induction hobs are extremely energy efficient, fast and precise as induction technology transfers energy directly into magnetic cookware.

Gives you the flexibility to use larger and different pots for special recipes or occasions as the bridge function allows you to connect 2 cooking zones into 1 large one when needed.

The touch and slide control panel allows you to regulate the heat easily and precisely by sliding your finger across the temperature scale or touching the desired temperature on the display.

You have excellent control when you cook since the individual timers allow you to time each zone separately.

With the auto-cook function, each zone is pre-set to either warm, melting, boiling or simmering. To quickly adjust the heat, slide the pan to the desired zone and press the auto-cook symbol.

The power booster feature (P) delivers additional power to a single cooking zone. This kind of rapid intense heat is ideal for boiling water, stir frying food or searing meat.

Pause function allows you to suspend the cooking process if you're interrupted, then re-start again at the same temperature in an instant. When the pause function is activated the cooking zone is automatically switched to the “keep warm” setting.

By holding the lock key for 4 seconds you activate the child lock and cleaning function temporarily, and clean the surface without changing any settings.

Easy to clean by just wiping with a damp cloth or sponge as spills from food or liquids do not burn on the surface.

Anti-overflow detection feature automatically switches off the hob if cooking content boils over and spills onto the control panel.

Reviews

AverageAnonymous reviewerIt works, but it's tedious to figure out and has features that are more of a hindrance. Please note you MUST have magnetic pans to work with this hob.3
awful controlsAnonymous reviewerI really can’t turn it on. with dry hands and with the hob entirely dry: I press again and again on the on button, for minutes and minutes, placing my finger in different places with different amounts of pressure for different amounts of time. it takes so long, it really doesn’t work. I really dread using this but it’s a trial I face every day.2
Feels cramped, not very responsiveAnonymous reviewerWas originally planning to buy Matmassig hob, but changed mind at last minute, which I now regret. I had been looking at Matmassig, as it was well reviewed by Which?, but was swayed by some features on Smaklig. Unfortunately, those features (simmering functions, merging two cooking areas) aren't really as useful as I thought they would be and the Which review of this hob, that it feels cramped, is in fact the case, meaning you end up putting pans across zones and also the controls, inadvertently changing them, turning on rings not in use. Also find it slow to heat up or change temperatures. All in all, I cannot recommend and suggest you spend a little more for a better hob!3
Worse than useless hobAnonymous reviewerThis hob doesn’t even deserve one star. We had it installed as part of a full Ikea kitchen installation last year. I love the kitchen overall but the appliances we got aren’t great and this hob is by far the worst of them. Like others have said it doesn’t heat anything well and trying to boil water on the boost function is a joke, even when the water is just boiled from a kettle. The zones all need to be on a high setting to actually attempt to cook anything, the lower heat settings are a waste of time and before customer services comment, I’m well used to cooking on induction hobs and my pans are all the correct type. Total waste of money, just wish we could get a refund on it. 1
Overly sensitive Anonymous reviewerOver sensitive and hard to sometimes switch on. Water on the glass also desensitises it3
Fantastic hobAnonymous reviewerWe bought this hob after my other smashed this is a brilliant hob with great features and once used to it very easy to understand perfect auto bits to it which really helps when your busy 5
Bad product Anonymous reviewerNot cheap. Not working properly. Don't buy.1
Power LimitationAnonymous reviewerThis hob take ages to boil a bowl of water. I am not sure what Power was set when it is first connected to main. May I ask how can I reset the Power Limitation (PL) ? As I am no longer able pressing button +/- and Ok buttom to set a higher PL. anybody knows any reset button?3
Sleek new cooking surfaceAnonymous reviewerDiscreet and versatile modern appliance at a fantastic price. It is made by Schott Ceran, the same manufacturer as many more expensively branded hobs. There is no IKEA branding on the surface. I find the induction hob easy to control and it has not disappointed after many years of a gas hob. I love the ability to clean and polish the glass after cooking without having to take off all the crowns and pan supports as I had to with our previous conventional hob. We have it plugged in to a normal electrical outlet which restricts using all four hobs at full power. If you regularly use all hobs on full you will need a larger supply connected directly to your consumer unit.5
Don’t waste your money - useless hobAnonymous reviewerWe’ve had 3 induction hobs from Ikea over the years and this is the worst one ever. Seriously do not waste your money on this hob. Every zone takes far too long to cook, even with full power. We have been using induction hobs for years so it’s nothing to do with the wrong type of cookware/pans or user error this is just an awful appliance. It was installed by Ikea kitchen fitters too (part of a full kitchen install) so the initial setup and power settings are all correct. I wish there had been more reviews when we were buying as we’d definitely have chosen a different model if not another brand completely. Should you decide to buy this beware - Ikea customer service is also dreadful. If something goes wrong you’d best be prepared to spend over an hour in a phone queue and have no response to emails and a resolution taking MONTHS if you’re actually lucky to get one. 1
Terrible HobAnonymous reviewerWe have recently installed a complete ikea kitchen and for the rest of the kitchen and appliances, we are very happy (the ovens are amazing). This hob on the other hand is terrible. It takes forever to heat up and is very sensitive. It took forever to heat up a pan of water and it did not do a good job of keeping the water boiling. I double checked the set point for power and it is set to the max of 7.2kw. We have had induction hobs for a while and this is by far the worst.1
DO NOT BUYAnonymous reviewerFrustrating hob to use on a daily basis. It can't tell a cloth or pan from a human hand. You cook with multiple pans you have to be very careful not to go near the controls with the pan bottoms, as it triggers the controls and you end up with rings on/off/up/down when you don't want them to. Can't give the unused surface a quick spills wipe whilst cooking as it throws a total fit. Randomly goes into some kind of lock mode, leaving the whole thing off mid-cooking. The gaps between the heat settings are ridiculous i.e., a sauce dropped to number 4 bubbles away quite aggressively whilst 3 does nothing at all. Just don't buy it. Horrible product to use. We've put up with it for 5 months but are running out of patience. Do not buy.1
Smaklig induction hob. Anonymous reviewerThis is a beautiful, functional hob. Managed to work it without instructions too which always makes me happy.•*5
I love this induction hob so easy to use Anonymous reviewerGreat product 5
Faulty product and faulty serviceAnonymous reviewerHalf of this product hasn't worked from the start and getting Whirlpool to sort the warranty has been a nightmare. Lots of cancelled visits and then repeated efforts by their engineers dragged out the whole thing for months. 1
Great product Anonymous reviewerGreat product, remember to set the power settings, as I didn't and it would not heat in two places at once, after doing this it has worked perfectly. 5
Do Not Buy This Hob!Anonymous reviewerWe had a complete new kitchen and all appliances bought and fitted through Ikea - Whilst we are more than happy with every other recommendation by the kitchen designer/agent in store-we absolutely hate this hob-it's like a battle of wills between us and it just to cook one meal.It constantly cuts out, bleeps and takes forever to heat (just 2 inches of already hot kettle water for a poached egg is at least 5 minutes waiting for it to boil). This has to be the worst induction hob on the market and we will be returning it to Ikea ( once we find another hob that will replace the size of the cut out in the worktop) and not the manufacturer as we bought it from Ikea NOT the manufacturer. This should be taken off their shelves.1
Works well, but could be betterAnonymous reviewerPros: It looks great, and you can definitely cook well with it. It's also surprisingly powerful. I can heat a carbon steel wok to very high heat for stir frying in less than a minute. It's nice that each burner has its own controls and you can jump from 9 to 1 just by tapping the left end of the slider, as opposed to tapping a minus button eight times. Cons: Automatic modes and timers require pressing an unintuitive sequence of buttons to activate and deactivate; I usually have to consult the manual or just don't bother. The right side is noticeably hotter than the left. I find the heat levels 1-9 are not an even gradient — e.g. 6 feels a lot hotter than 5 — but you get used to this quickly. As another reviewer mentioned, if there's any food or liquid on the controls while it's off (which happens a lot), it goes into a safety mode where you can't turn it on for 10 seconds. 4
Not user-friendly at all. Anonymous reviewerHard to switch on, switches off automatically after 5 seconds if you remove the pan. When you cook, you need a hob to be flexible, this one is beeping left, right and center when a drop of water falls on the sensors... 1
Very poor quality productAnonymous reviewerWe bought our whole kitchen from Ikea including all the appliances. We were recommended this hob by the kitchen designer. I wish I had checked the other reviews before I bought it. It is awful, does not heat up, taking ten minutes to bring water from a boiled kettle to a boil, the functions do not work consistently, it is over complicated. We were really looking forward to cooking in our new kitchen and this has made the experience miserable. Now we are stuck trying to get it fixed or replaced with the manufacturer. I am very disappointed. Ikea should not be selling this as a product, let alone a premium product.1
