Easy to assemble and looks greatAnonymous reviewerOne of the easiest IKEA items I have put up, bought along with a side cabinet and both were build in less than half an hour. Looks great too.5
Shelves not wide enoughAnonymous reviewerI guess i didnt notice it at the start, but it's now been just over a year - and all the shelves are not holding anymore. it looks like the shelves are too narrow, or the sides of the unit have moved away from each other slightly. I called Ikea to seek some help - compensation or a replacement but they said they couldnt help me because it's been 15 months (the bookcase is only under warranty for 12 months). Very disappointing as I have bought and assembled loads of furniture from ikea, but this is a first.1
Great bookcase for a smaller spaceAnonymous reviewerThis bookcase is the perfect size for a smaller space and looks great. Quick to build and sturdy.5
Looks in good condition and easy to build until the back boardAnonymous reviewerthese shelves are good condition and look great and also easy to build until the I had to connect the top of the shelves. I found it essentially impossible to get this part to connect due to the flimsy back board. And I can only connect one side and the other wouldn’t be anywhere near to connecting to the top part of the shelves3
Beautiful book shelf for the home officeAnonymous reviewerAbsolutely stunning cupboard for the home office. Highly recommend.5
The shelves don’t fit?Anonymous reviewerBought this yesterday and although it was very easy to put together the shelves are too narrow leaving big gaps either side! It’s not ideal, can you help, any ideas Ikea customer services?3
Love itAnonymous reviewerIt took a few minutes to put together, slightly harder than the Kallax series which I can do in my sleep. Nevertheless, gorgeous. I love the deep blue colour and I am currently using it for shoe storage. I'm ordering another one for books.5
Good looking sturdy bookcaseAnonymous reviewerBought for my art studio, together with the Skruvby cabinet, both are just perfect. Easy to assemble, sturdy with loads of space. Once it's secured to a wall (as per instructions), it's rock solid.5
Worst bookshelf I have ever boughtAnonymous reviewerI bought this bookshelf and put it together only for it to fall apart while I was cleaning it. Ikea replaced it, only for it to fall apart again. The shelves don't reach the little holders and there's a clear gap. Second time it caused me an Injury before I had even put a book on it. Ikea tried to refuse to refund me, their argument being it wasnt fixed to the wall. I hadnt e en had a chance to fix it to thr wall when it collapsed and the shelves clearly dont fit so fixing it to the wall would make no difference. I had to raise the issue with the consumer ombudsmen and they finally refunded me. Both bookshelves went to the tip. Its not fit for purpose, and is entirely unsafe. Ill never shop at ikea again and I've been a customer for years and have spent thousands with them. Appalling product and appalling service1
Bought 2 of these beautysAnonymous reviewerThe build is easy enough for 1 person and they look stunning. It fits a lot of books and boardgames even though it may not look it from the size.5
Easy to build and a quality finishAnonymous reviewerHave built several pieces in this range now and they’ve all been straight forward to build and feel solid once built too. Very impressed5
Believe the other reviewsAnonymous reviewerLooks fairly good, would have been happier if the shelves were the right width but theres a gap of a mm or two on either side. Hopefully once its full of books the gaps will be less visible. Yes they're on the right way around.
Easy to assemble and sturdy. Would really benefit from another shelf or two, I bought this for office storage and even storing large files and books there will lots of empty space.3
Great storage solution!Anonymous reviewerGreat bookcase and quite stylish. Could do with more shelves, or option to purchase extras. Solid and holds quite a lot of weight. Would recommend.5
replacement bookcase still has terrible gapsAnonymous reviewerI reviewed this bookcase after assembly only a month ago and was disappointed with the gaps between shelves and walls of the bookcase. They offered a replacement and still the same issue arose. It's too unstable to place anything fragile or heavy on that I would trust it would be safe. the shelf floats between the walls and I am sorry to say this is just not the quality I expect from Ikea especially at a this price range. The pegs are too short so even if you successfully get the shelf to stay in the middle one bump and it can fall out. I just want a refund for the product at this point but now I have two unstable bookcases I don't know what to do with.1
Shelves do not fit flush ** Poor Quality from Ikea**Anonymous reviewerHaving assembled as per instructions and I am a seasoned DIYer. The shelves do not sit flush with the side panels.
I measured between the two side panels(outer edges)and it varies from 600mm (at the top) to 604mm (in middle). It appears one of the end panels is warped and not true straight. I would not put anything too heavy on the middle shelve. Very Disappointed with Ikea and the poor quality. Expected better!2
Really disappointed Anonymous reviewerI have the entertainment center and side table in this set and love them but this is shoddy and not worth the price. After assembly, and I triple checked my booklet to be sure, the side of the bookcase were warped outwards. There are huge gaps between my shelves and the walls/sides. I’m afraid to put anything on them as they don’t feel sturdy at all. Not the ikea quality I’m expecting more like some wayfair stuff. I would give one star but the laminate is good quality and looks nice totally unusable though. 2
Lovely Anonymous reviewerReally pleased with this book case for our daughter’s bedroom. I agree with other reviews that it’s a shame there are no replacement shelves but it’s still a lovely smart unit for the price. 5
Shelves too narrowAnonymous reviewerI really love the skruvby units they have fitted perfectly into my cottage. However I am really unhappy with the bookshelves and wish I had read more of the reviews. I have put lots of ikea furniture together and know what I am doing. I have 4 other skruvby units so I know that the shelves do sit flush with the sides on other units. After putting the 2 bookcases together I noticed that there was a gap between the edge of the shelf and the side panel which means that the shelf rocks and seems really unstable when it has stuff on it. I have taken it down and made sure everything is tightened up but there is still a gap. I have put the shelf in the right way, not really sure how you could get that wrong. Very disappointing. 3
Brilliant and sturdyAnonymous reviewerThese book cases take a lot of books. Easy to put together. They are super sturdy with good thick shelves. I adore the colour matches with our Dulux Inkwell paint a treat. So pleased we bought 7 of them!5
Solid unitAnonymous reviewerI bought this for my vinyl collection and it hasn't disappointed. The wide gaps between each shelf are perfect for getting as many vinyls on as possible. A solid storage unit5
