Reviews

They look greatAnonymous reviewerThese were perfect for the shelves and look good.5
Great shelf bracketsAnonymous reviewerGreat price and great quality5
Should be recalled - DangerousAnonymous reviewerAgree with other reviews: these brackets should be recalled. I bought 3 for a long shelf, fitted by a handyman as per instructions. The shelf held just two frames and a small plant, well below the stated max weight. After 3 days, two brackets failed at the connection point – they are only glued with a wooden pin. The shelf was above the sofa where my child usually sits; luckily only the frame fell and no one was there. IKEA sent replacements, but the handyman and I agreed the design is flawed: the connection should take weight horizontally, not vertically. Within 12 days, the replacements and the third bracket also collapsed. I had to buy other brackets from another store with simple screw-to-wall fittings, plus repair and repaint the wall. I’ve furnished most of my home with IKEA and never had issues before, but this product is unsafe and poorly designed.1
Given upAnonymous reviewerFar too complicated for me,I've only been putting shelves up for 50 years Nice finish though 1
DANGEROUS. Do not buy.Anonymous reviewerTotally agree with the others here - bought having previously had these and not seen recent reviews. Brackets failed and the dowel came unstuck and terrified my child as the shelf came crashing down at night, damaging furniture underneath.1
Made by blind muppetsAnonymous reviewerThese were not fell apart for me yet like it did for many reviewers but it made me believe that I'm drunk while trying to install them. After the 10th piece I put on the wall I realized that the brackets on the back of the units are all over the place. Ranging from 3.5 to 4.5 cm from the top. I kind of expected that it should be uniform as it was manufactured by a machine. Now my walls are full of unnecessary drilled holes and uneven shelves... thanks IKEA, you really had one job...1
Does the job Anonymous reviewerDoes the job!5
11 of 16 brackets fell apart, Shelf collapsed. AVOID!Anonymous reviewer These are complicated to fit (4 different size screws needed). I bought 16 brackets for 4 shelves. 4 brackets fell apart as I was fixing them to the wall. They are joined with wood dowels not screwed, Ikea don’t appear to use glue. The other 11 brackets were ok until I fixed a shelf onto them, 10 mins later 2 more came apart, the shelf hung off the wall, half the bracket securely fixed to the wall. Joints have no glue holding them together just friction so under just the weight of shelf they fell apart. I then pulled on the other brackets as I didn’t trust them. 11 of 16 fell apart leaving just the vertical bit fixed firmly to the wall. I recommend you don’t buy these. If you do you should expect your lovely belongings to end up broken on the floor, based on my experience. To be absolutely clear, the brackets didn’t pull out of the wall and I didn’t use the wrong fixings or screws, the brackets themselves fell apart because they are held together with short dowels and no glue. 1
Unsafe, should be recalled. Read other reviews. Bracket can fail. Do not buyAnonymous reviewerI wish I had read other reviews on here before buying this product. I can confirm what others have written - this is a very poor redesign of a previously reliable product. The brackets failed in the exact same way as other people have noted - the dowel that connects the angled support to the upright part which is connected to the wall came unstuck. The upright is still connected to the wall but support has fallen away causing the shelf to slope forward and the books that were on it to pitch forward and fall in and around my newborn baby's cot. If I hadn't been feeding him at the time, he would have been badly injured. This happened in the middle of the night. I had to move baby's cot and myself to different room before we could go back to sleep because there are two other shelves in same location supported by same brackets which i could no longer rely on and this meant that our sleep space was no longer safe. As others noted, cost of replacing shelves/redecorating will be significant1
Fell off the wall - avoid unless you want a shelf load on your headAnonymous reviewerthe brackets failed and the shelf came crashing down. Once broken apart you can see there is only a wooden peg holding the three wooden parts together. DO NOT BUY1
Does what it says on the tinAnonymous reviewerNot sure why there are negative reviews for this bracket. The new design is much more secure than before. The brackets hook on to screws that you affix to the wall. If you can't get this correct you shouldn't be putting up shelves. The shelf board itself also locks in to couplings on the bracket via a screw- this mitigates the possibility of the shelf board tipping forwards due to uneven load. This is a very well designed bracket and I had no issue installing 9 of these. It does take accurate measurement - but you know what they say... measure twice, cut/drill once. 5
Absolutely avoidAnonymous reviewerThese brackets are poorly made and I can't not believe these would have gone through any product testing. The brackets are not glued at the joints. On two occasions our shelves have come crashing down falling on my TV. The shelf was not overloaded, only had soft toys and some toddler books. 3am in the morning we heard an all mighty crash, giving both myself and husband a heart attack! Came downstairs to find a shelf on the floor, damaged TV, and the brackets split into two half still attached to the wall and the other half attached to the shelf. I'm just thankful my toddler was not playing in the room at the time this is his usual play area. These are a waste of money and time, completely unsafe. Ikea need to take these off the market and review the design of these. DO NOT BUY! 1
I still have not received it yet, should be a minus star.Anonymous reviewerObviously your right hand part of your company does not have contact with the left hand section of your company. Four times we tried to collect from the delivery post office. We could see the package with my name on but the dpd qr code had a different name on, so they were not prepared to give me my paid for ikea order, even though I had your payment receit. You have been made fully aware of the situation and informed me that you were sorting it out, It seems you have not, I have also been on to DPD who are also sorting it out. But really all I get is this computer generated email asking me to review something I have not been able to get from you. A very unhappy customer. Hopefully this will go onto one of the TV programmes for others to see. Please sort out ASAP regards Rob Thornton1
Sterdy Anonymous reviewerLooks great and is sterdy. Very happy with my purchase and new shelves. 5
Extra ShelfAnonymous reviewerThe original shelves worked very well so I decided to order another to have more storage space. Great to be able to add on and expand in this way.5
Dangerous product Anonymous reviewerI bought these brackets a while ago, three of them, to support a shelf according to the instructions. The first one arrived broken, but IKEA replaced it very quickly. I had a handyman install them because the design is extremely difficult. Six months later, they all collapsed. The shelf was holding only two picture frames and some small items. This is a really dangerous product.1
Great little bracketAnonymous reviewerWe needed to put up an old shelf with new supports and these were perfect. We used three to be sure there'd be enough support and they look good - being white they're easy to fit in with most decor.5
Impossible to secure and is unsafeAnonymous reviewerI purchased several of the previous version of these shelf supports where they were quite simple to secure to the wall, despite the holes for the screws are behind the angled support. Yesterday I purchased more of these, but they are the new versions, where an embedded mount is intended to slide on to a screw instead of the simple hole in the wood. This is not a good design because it cannot be secured. Getting the brackets aligned with the screws is extremely difficult. If the screw is too tight, it will not slide into place. If the screw is too loose, while it will slide on, it’s too loose. There is absolutely no way for this to be secured. IKEA needs to rethink this design or go back to the old way. These are frustrating to install, and are not secure. This is unacceptable as it is not safe.1
perfect styleAnonymous reviewerperfect for my new book shelves5
Terrible redesign of previously good productAnonymous reviewerPlease, please bring back the original version of these brackets - this new, weird keyhole version is SO much harder to install than the previous version (the one with two straight-forward screws going into the wall) - over complicated for no reason. I can’t get these to sit secure/flush/tight on the wall at all - they wobble, despite my best efforts!! I’ve put up a lot of very solid shelves in my time, including loads using the previous design, so I’m in no way incompetent. I hate these.1
