Arms regularly snapAnonymous reviewerBought version of this chair in 2015 with no issues for a decade, replaced it end of 2025 due to the materials starting to wear down after 10 years, and the arms have now snapped again after I had to replace them a few months ago after they snapped the first time after 6 months of use
Very comfortableAnonymous reviewerNot hard to assemble, but had to find the instructions and screws/ bolts first. They were stuffed inside the actual chair back 🙄. Could have at least said on the packaging.
Chair is very comfortable and good value.
Does not lastAnonymous reviewerBought this chair 4 years ago and it's still usable, but it's in a bad state. The main issue as others have pointed out is the wearing out of the material. I remember it started bubbling and peeling off less than a year after I bought it. It has also sunk in and is not very comfy. Not terrible for the price, but I'd recommend saving up a bit more and get something better that would last longer.
Great well-priced chairAnonymous reviewerThis is a great entry level chair for my son. He loves it and he built it!
Study ChairAnonymous reviewerPerfect chair for a study/office use.
Waste of money arm rest brokenAnonymous reviewerIKEA have sold a chair which is structurally faulty. Unfortunately the structural nature of the arms which are critical for holding the backrest upright have a manufacturing defect, the arm rest have broken. Because the armrest on this model are integral to the structure, they cannot simply be removed without leaving the chair backrest wobbly or disconnected. The first armrest broke and then the second is showing signs of a crack. This chair should not be sold to the public as it is badly designed. Awaiting IKEA to sort this out
GreatAnonymous reviewerVery comfortable glad I bought it.
Comfortable chairAnonymous reviewerThe allem key would be better if similar to the smaller one ie zig zag
Built to last… maybe 2 yearsAnonymous reviewerThe chair is okay, but not worth the price. The base and swivel are still fine after a year. The problem is the seat and backrest material—it wears out way too fast. There’s no replacement, so once it’s worn, you have to replace the whole chair. Not very eco-friendly or cost-friendly.
Not terrible but not worth £60Anonymous reviewerBought mainly because of the vinyl wipe down cover. Make sure to watch the video regarding how to lock and unlock the back with the height lever, it's easy to accidentally tap it in. It does the job but the padding is thin and it generally feels flimsy considering the price. I would recommend this for light use, maybe an hour or so a day.
Not bad but IKEA have missed out on comfortAnonymous reviewerI was drawn to this chair online and decided to check it out in-store. Whilst it looks great online, the main issue is the backrest—it has very little padding, so your back tends to sink in, which isn’t ideal for posture or long hours at a desk. Over time, you may also start to feel the metal frame through the backrest, which could be uncomfortable, especially if you’re taller. It’s surprising this wasn’t more noticeable when sitting. The seat base is comfortable, and the clever storage of components in the back is a nice touch. However, if your priority is comfort during extended work sessions, this probably isn’t the ideal chair. That said, it’s compact and works well in small spaces.
For greater comfort, I’d totally recommend the MILLBERGET, which offers thicker padding on both the seat and backrest, along with padded armrests. If you only need a chair for shorter sessions, though, this could work fine. That chair is a significant step-up to this one.
Good office chair but doesn’t lastAnonymous reviewerI buy these chairs for a student house I rent out. They look the part, but are very firm ( lacking padding) in the seat. They’re good value for money I suppose but they don’t last well. The surface of the seat surface wears off fairly quickly - sometimes after only 2 years, which is a shame, as I then need to replace an otherwise sound chair. It’s not environmentally sound to do this, I’d happily replace the seat if possible. Or maybe IKEA could look at a more robust seat? O
Good chairAnonymous reviewerWorks well, no concerns
1 year later…Anonymous reviewerBeen using this chair for a year, so I think this is a reliable review. I had no issues with it when I first bought it, but it only took about 2-3months for the seat to completely sink in. I don’t work from home, but when I’m not working, I’m at home at my desk about 2 hours everyday on average, so it’s not like I’m using it lots everyday. The back rest had started sinking back too after about 2-3months and after a year when I sit on it I can feel all the metal bits on the seat & back rest. Considering the price, I had hoped this would last longer than the 2-3 months. I only still have this because I can’t afford a new chair yet.
Great chair for the moneyAnonymous reviewerThis chair was relatively cheap compared to some of the other office chairs but it’s very sturdy and was straightforward to put together. Good value for money.
Broke after 6 weeksAnonymous reviewerI was very happy with this chair, it was really comfortable but the height adjustment pump broke after only 6 weeks!
