burns foodAnonymous reviewerI only used this pan a few times, for simple things like frying an egg, and after 3 or 4 uses the non-stick coating started to lift and food kept starting to burn ( not even on a particularly high heat). I wish I had spent a bit more for better quality

panAnonymous reviewerI recently purchased a non-stick frying pan from IKEA, and unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing. Despite following all the care instructions — using only silicone/wooden utensils, cooking on medium heat, and washing by hand — the non-stick coating started wearing off within just two days of use.
I expected better quality and durability from IKEA products, especially since this pan was advertised as long-lasting and easy to maintain. The surface now has visible scratches and food sticks to it, defeating the purpose of buying a non-stick pan in the first place.
I’ve always trusted IKEA for reliable kitchenware, but this product really fell short of expectations. For the price, I expected at least a few months of good performance, not just two days. I hope IKEA looks into the quality control of this item, as it’s clearly not up to their usual standards.

What is sol-gel ceramic non-stick coating?
Sol-gel non-stick is often called ceramic coating and is an increasingly common replacement for other non-stick coatings in frying pans. It comprises mostly of silica and is created by applying a gel-like solution to the product and drying it in an oven. The result is a hard, glossy surface with non-stick properties. Sol-gel can be produced in different colours, it withstands high heat, is easy to use and clean – and allows cooking with little or no fat.
