It's ok, but I question the value for moneyAnonymous reviewerIt requires a lot of assembly, and I paid £30 (60x60x80cm model) for what is essentially three chipboards with plastic trim and vinyl covering, pre drilled, and some metal strips, screws and nails, some plastic spacers, and a thin piece of hardboard for the back. I feel like it should cost less than this for what I'm getting, or that the quality should be higher, or that it should be more customisable at the ordering stage. Ikea should provide engineering drawings or CAD models for people who can utilise them as it's not always clear wich dimension is which in the item description. I couldn't find exactly what I wanted, so I'm having to customise it myself. Ikea likely has the parts I need, but there's no way of finding, mixing and matching different parts to make the cabinet I want. Other sites like MBS allow you to build from the entire library of parts, add machining and cutting and then place the order.

Metod carcass only in white? Anonymous reviewerIkea now only offer the metod carcases in white. Total disaster, used to offer a range of colours. Guess it's off to the competition. Very poor from IKEA. No option on colour of carcass.
Inadequate Packaging Anonymous reviewerI ordered this 3 times for home delivery. Every one had damaged packaging, and the pieces were cracked or chipped. The fixings box had fallen out of one of them and was missing.
I finally gave up and assembled the best of the broken pieces.
Cardboard cushioning inside the box may be more environmentaly friendly, but one drop and it's ineffective. Hardly good for the environment when the furniture pieces are more likely to be damaged.
False warrantyAnonymous reviewerAdvertised IKEA Kitchen warranty periods are fraudulent, and their products are not fit for purpose. There is a clear fault in the manufacturing of their kitchen products but according to IKEA, any damage is accidental and therefore not covered by their warranties. This is causing considerable additional costs in refitting and finding another solution. Do not consider IKEA Kitchens - it will cost you a lot more money in the long run!

A kitchen that took us around the world
Whatever your dream kitchen is, it’s probably different from many other people’s dreams. This we learned when researching kitchen desires around the globe. Our conclusion for the METOD kitchen system: it should make it possible to design the best kitchen for you – whatever your preferences and living situation.
Our ambition is to help as many as possible to have a kitchen they'd love to be in. We started sketching. “When we created METOD, it was our biggest ever kitchen change, so it's fair to say we were very keen to get it right,” says technician Klas-Ola Nilsson.

Material
What is particleboard?
Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.

Building blocks for the kitchen
METOD frames provide the base for your new kitchen. Choose between base cabinets, wall cabinets and high cabinets in many different widths. Wall cabinets and high cabinets also come in different heights. If you want to use a corner, choose a corner base cabinet with a carousel that makes it easy to reach what's inside. There are even special frames for a built-in single or double oven. Perfect if you want to have the oven at a comfortable working height.
