AvoidAnonymous reviewerI've used this oven for a year now:
Positives:
- fast to get up to temperature
Negatives:
- It makes a lot of noise once turned off as it evacuates air. Not at all helpful if you’re having dinner nearby.
- It does not keep to a steady temperature, heat distribution on fan setting is abismal
- timer function is clunky and doesn’t work2
Matalskare ovenAnonymous reviewerIt works. But I’m not impressed. Appears to run hot have had a few near misses. Only one shelf, which is very restricting. Just wish I had spent more and got a better one. I had an earlier model which I was happy with, this one does not compare. 3
Exploding glassAnonymous reviewerOn the pyrolytic setting for the first time of using, followed instructions and left it to do its thing. 20 minutes into cycle, both inner panes of glass exploded, shattering into millions of shards all over the inside of the oven as well as falling down from the gap they created inside the bottom of the door all over my kitchen floor in boiling hot pieces. Other than that disaster that IKEA and whirlpool now have to resolve between them (oven has been in use for just 11 months), agree with others regarding slow heating time, uselessness of timer, lack of second internal shelf (why two trays, though?) and poor filament arrangement for grilling - mine seems to heat the four corners rather than the centre. Not worth £450, wish I had sourced another oven separately. Don’t mind the aggressive cooling fan as leaving the door ajar speeds that up. 2
Exploding doorAnonymous reviewerWe have had this oven for 3.5 years and all was ok. I put on the self clean programme this morning. After about 30 mins the inner glass of the door exploded. Hot glass everywhere. Highly danergous and now involves us contacting Ikea/Whirlpool or buying a new oven.1
Great until it stopped working.Anonymous reviewerBought this oven last December and it worked great, cooked really well. However, 3 weeks ago it stopped working and tripped the electrics. Took a week to come out and then a week to get the part which was an element that had burned out. New element put in today, the guy left and 10 minutes later it went off again and no longer usable. Same thing as a previous review going between Ikea and Whirlpool, resulting a hour on hold between the two. So next appointment in another week. This oven is used by a couple in their 80's with a disabled son. So what happens in the meantime, no oven for another two weeks until the element goes again which seems to be the thing with this product. I would just like to see the product replaced. But who will sort that out!!!2
Debateable reliabilityAnonymous reviewerIt is difficult see the benefit of this fan oven, as the instructions are not that easy to understand. Additionally the timer does not work, which is one of the features that we wiould like to use.3
Good value for moneyAnonymous reviewerGood value for money5
Utterly Useless OvenAnonymous reviewerThere is absolutely nothing positive one can say about this oven, it is beyond useless.
Grill: Takes at least 10 minutes to heat to full power which is underpowered. Not helped by the ridiculous spacing of the element which has a hole in the middle just where you need it. The top shelf is nowhere near enough to the element.
Oven: Again, takes forever to get up to full heat. Lots of utterly useless over-complicated settings. A decent grill and fan oven is all that is required and it fails on both fronts. Annoyingly, when you turn it off, a ridiculously loud fan kicks in to cool the oven down and roars away for up to half an hour. Even when we are in a different room we can hear it. There is no way of turning this off unless you leave the oven on and turn it down to its lowest setting which sometimes works. The timer is utterly pointless. It's just a clockwork thing that makes a pathetic 'ding' which is inaudible unless you are standing right over it.

Very disappointed on this oven, do not recommend itAnonymous reviewerI purchased this oven 2 years ago and I had only problems with it. Firstly, the timer did not work but then I wasn't considering it a big issue and bought a timer separately. Then, the food was taking ages to cook but eventually was being done and bought a separate air fryer and only used that instead. Unfortunately, just on Christmas day I had to use the oven to cook some food as it was too big for my air fryer and it was a dezaster!!! The food was only cooked on the top and raw at the bottom!!! Had to throw everything in the bin as was impossible to eat!!! So, so disappointed, really not worth the money!!!!1
Good quality kitchenAnonymous reviewerAlthough I did not put the new kitchen in in the builder said it was well made and fairly easy to assemble even if instruction was different from other similar products.5
Smart modernAnonymous reviewerEye level great .Time Bell only dings once4
Poor spaceAnonymous reviewerPoor instructions for use, a few cooked food ideas would have been good. Needs two racks as standard. Timer does not mean an oven timer for cooking and switching off when finished it is just a timer that dings I would suggest that what is show is misleading information.1
Good value for moneyAnonymous reviewerThis MATALSKARE FORCED AIR OVEN roasts, bakes etc very well....I can’t fault it but any cooking residue is extremely difficult to remove, even with professional oven cleaner. I kept tin foil in tray in order to minimise cleaning, but to no avail. Also, the base of the oven, is flexible and tinny. On the whole, not bad for money.4
Very good lookingAnonymous reviewerPurchased a complete new kitchen along with this oven. Super pleased with how it all looks -- the oven is very smart & cooks great too !5
Great ovenAnonymous reviewerGreat value for the quality and price5
