They didn't need to be thick or anything, but needed to block out light as my tv is directly opposite one window. I came across these curtains while watching an interior design video on youtube and am happy to say they are perfect. The material feels nice to the touch, the various options for hanging (rod, pinch pleat etc) is fantastic. I read some reviews that stated they didn't block out light. But I can confirm that they do block light from my south facing windows perfectly. The green colour is also lovely; it's like a classic heritage green, which is perfect for the dark and moody aesthetic I am crafting with my interior decorating. All in all, I am super happy and would highly recommend, especially at this price. And the are super easy to hem to required length, especially using the iron-on hemming strip.5

What is polyester?

Polyester is a durable, quick-drying and insulating material that is optimal to use for textiles and as filling in pillows, quilts and furniture. The material is made from crude oil – a limited resource. Since IKEA doesn’t want to contribute to more virgin oil being used, we are now gradually switching to recycled and traceable polyester from sources like PET bottles. What’s nice is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without changing or losing its great qualities.
