Very comfortableVerified BuyerBought to replace poor quality lath system on existing bed. Easy to adapt and fit into existing bed frame after old lath system removed. The difference was noticeable as the laths are the recommended spacing. So comfortable since nights sleep that night and ever since, very pleased.5
Very satisfyWaseemaI had the same slat in Czech Republic. I was looking for the same here. I found it in Ikea. It is perfect. My bed doesn't make any noise. I will definitely recommend this slat if you want to have a proper one definitely go for this one. You will see the difference by yourself.5
Really comfortable but so weak!Gracep123I love these slats I think they’re the best I’ve ever had to be honest I suffer from back problems and combined with the mattress it is comfortable. But the slats break so easy! I don’t jump on the bed or do anything ridiculous with lots of force, I can be simply leaning on the bed, as it is pushed against the wall I have to kneel on the bed to open the window, and a slat will just break so easily!2
Great bath matNanny 7Brilliant bath mat looks good and is so soft to your feet it's the second I've bought5
linromReally pleased with our new bed base, great support5
Slatted bed base.KittyKat70We purchased these as the middle of range slats for the malm bed. When installing these you are to match the shades of grey slats to the runners. Well there must be a knack in doing this. It's a difficult one person job, unless you are very patient. The problem is the slats pop out as you try to put additional ones in. You get there in the end, but it's a bit frustrating. A few choice words were aired.4
Bed slats - Lonset.JoannieBI bought these for sons bed to fit in a frame I have made also bought ikea Hovag mattress to go on top. Drone boxes to go in frame. Really successful project. Easy to assemble So pleased going to buy the same again for my other son tomorrow. I would definitely recommend.5
Bed frameLakehousemusicVery good but awkward to put together5
Very comfy slatted bed baseMaria1712everyone was very helpful in store for advice. Very easy to install. Very comfy Good value for money5
Good mattress supportLehapauWell made but patients needed when assembling. Supports the mattress good. Shame they don’t put slats to the ends. Some off the screws strip their treads and have to be packed.4
Something to sleep on.malc_bI needed a bed for a room that is slightly too narrow for most standard frames, I decided to build a frame that would maximise the available space. I chose the LÖNSET slatted base because it is marginally shorter than most, and I designed the frame so that its legs are inset from the edges, allowing it to be pushed up against a wall without touching the skirting board, and with the legs long enough for storage under the bed. I am very happy with the results, the slatted base is very well made, strong and easy to assemble, more importantly the finished bed is extremely comfortable when combined with a good mattress.5
Makes for a comfortable bedCath 81Worth paying a little extra for a more comfortable bed a bit fiddly to put together but worth it.5
Brilliant for a good night’s sleepMexxBought a new mattress but couldn’t afford the bed frame or the Lonset. The new mattress helped us to sleep and was better, but this raised it a whole new level... makes me feel like I have a very expensive mattress as my bed is so comfy now!5
It does the job!Alias_007I moved from an very firm bed base to this and it is noticeable very soft! It can be time consuming inserting the slats, but I followed tips from Youtube. If installing into a Malm bed frame, don't forget there are two heights this can be installed at. So try and work out which you would prefer before you install it all and place the mattress to find that you don't really like the height!!!4
Old Malm feels new againMissBrownI have a 15 year old Malm frame in the European Double size that IKEA no longer sell in the UK. Having replaced the mattress last year, the old slats were giving up. These fit perfectly. Were really easy to put together and my bed feels brand new again! The only downside was the extortionate delivery charge for a warehouse only item5
Sturdy slatssimidemonNot the easiest item to build, but worth the effort.4
Nice sizeServers it purpose good value3
Fit perfect, as described.Lickydave458Easy to put together, the bed feels great with it.5
Pefect bounce for a firm but soft bedMandylovesikeaLove this product . Firm enough with a subtle bounce5
really comfortable expensive to constructbassettIt took a trained carpenter three hours (at £18 an hour to put this together for me - I really regretted not just getting a normal divan base - with drawers). I would have stood no chance of putting it together myself and it meant I had to sleep on the floor on the mattress since the carpenter could not get to me until the next day. Employing a workman makes this a very expensive option2

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is layer-glued wood?

With layer-glued wood it’s possible to create flexible and extra strong constructions with curved shapes, like frames for armchairs. The secret is a technique where many layers of thin wood veneer are glued together and then pressed into the desired shape. We often use wood like birch, beech, ash and even bamboo – and strive to use the raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste. Just like solid wood, it has natural variations in structure and colour.
