Part only required.Anonymous reviewerI’m lead to believe that to get one specific part of this spare part you have to purchase the entire package. It’s disappointing when I only needed replacement rubber washer, the rest being entirely surplus to my needs. I know ikea sell things in this manner to make money but they should really have a hard look at selling only the parts people require as the rest just gets discarded as waste.

Won't stop leaking Anonymous reviewerYou get a lot of plastic for your money, but its quite poor quality. The waste trap worked fine until I connected a washing machine.. Water then just blasted out of the body under pressure. No amount of 'fettling' could stop the leaking. So I replaced the whole setup with a UK product. It was double the price, but water tight and a lot sturdier.
My plumbers won't fit this...Anonymous reviewerThey are in the midst of hooking up the plumbing after having an IKEA kitchen installed last week. They've just gone off to the merchants to buy a replacement as they said this isn't a standard UK waste pipe - I'm no plumbing expert but it went something along the lines of "a standard UK waste has 2 pipes away rather than 1". They said if they used this they'd have to mess around with it to make it work adequately. Perhaps this is a European design which would stand to reason but I would have expected IKEA to provide plumbing pieces that were standard to the UK.

Easy to installAnonymous reviewerVery easy to install, and looks very tidy leaving plenty of cupboard space.
Works but problemsAnonymous reviewerLeaks at the yellow plug. Tried a different washer which helped but still leaked from the where the are it clicks in. The plastic mechanism is too thin causing leaks from the sides. In the end we had to use plumbers putty to take up the gaps.

Love this systemAnonymous reviewerAmateur plumbing is a merciless pastime, so I am unsurprised to see the poor reviews. Having struggled with various compression systems in the past, I found this IKEA system to be an absolute breeze. It's very cleverly designed, there is a brilliant ball socket for the overflow that makes connecting it so simple. Everything just clicks together and it works. I have had leaks in the past from top name brands, but this IKEA wastes system worked perfectly first time. No matter what people say, there's no such thing as a universal wastes system, but the design of this system is brilliant. It will give you the best chance of getting plumbed in good time. I highly recommend it.
Overflow issueAnonymous reviewerI bought this to replace an old one (same product) and my sink is an ikea one. The overflow pipe should flow downwards according to instructions (and logically) but it is physically impossible for that to happen because the connection part is too long even on its shortest setting. Too late to return now as all fitted. Given I have fitted it with an ikea sink I thought it would be a suitable fit!
Insufficient options and difficult to integrateAnonymous reviewerIn a perfect world, where only one appliance waste outlet is needed, this product may be adequate. Our second appliance required an additional waste trap to be installed. This was expensive and annoying, given that previous Ikea designs had the facility for two appliances.
Great but not practical Anonymous reviewerThe washing machine or dishwasher waste pape adaptor isn't long enough or wide enough to create a tight fit, as a result every time the washer pumps out it leaks.
Does the job no probs at all for a D.I.Y erAnonymous reviewerI already had a kitchen that i installed back in 2012 and the sink waste broke on it last night 10pm, anyway looked on the Internet for a new kitchen sink waste, others are available but either more involved to fit possibly needing more parts to make it work meaning more money and more time. So looked on ikea website at 10.30pm found this one for £15 done a click and collect and no probs at all.... received a email saying my item was ready to collect, so drove to ikea collection point and nice easy collection from nice helpful staff, comes with a 25 year guarantee so i have left the receipt with my other paperwork for the kids to sort out once i have deceased or if not i will bin the receipt in 25 years time.
I'm not a plumber or anything like that whatsoever and it is very easy to fit, just take your time and read the instructions and all will be good.
No leaks whatsoever fits great and a bargain price.... if you wish you can buy the same item for over double the price on ebay....
Compatability of Lillviken with standard UK waste pipe.Anonymous reviewerI recently purchased a sink and waste trap bundle. The waste water pipework is the Lillviken for a single sink.
The material is polypropylene, and for that reason I assumed it would work with 40mm 'push fit' waste pipe (push fit is polypropylene, solvent weld is ABS). But the end of the flexible drain is a loose fit in a 40mm push fit fitting, and it is too large to fit into the pipe.
1) Is there some adapter that I need to buy.
2) Can IKEA please take steps to make it clearer what type of fittings these kits are compatible with.
