Board-on-frame is a strong and lightweight material with a frame in wood, particleboard or fibreboard.

Nice tableAnonymous reviewerNice table for the price. It took me about an hour to assemble by myself. The only downside is that the legs need to be screwed directly into the desktop, which isn’t solid wood but more like particleboard with a cardboard-style core. This means it’s basically designed for one-time assembly — if you disassemble it and try to put it together again, the screws will likely no longer hold properly.
Other than that, I really like the table.

Good cheap desk but construction issuesAnonymous reviewerThe wooden table drilled in holes are a correct fit for the 4 legged side with storage, but the 2 legged other side is meant to be screwed in with 10 screws and the default holes in the wood don't in any way fit our correctly constructed legs, they're not even symmetrical let alone aligned, guessing the wood is intended for other builds or we had a manufacturing issue. Rest of the construction is fine and unlike the other review I thankfully don't have FedEx, but just be warned you need to know how to drill a hole (use a piece of sticky tape on the drill bit so it doesn't go through the table) if you actually want to construct this thing well, hopefully not a systemic issue
