A colander like all the others? Not at all. You can fold this one out and use it directly in the pot – half-way if you need a steaming insert for vegetables and folded fully out when cooking pasta.

Can be used as a steamer insert (semi-open) and pasta insert (fully open) in most 3-5 litre pots.

The colander can have two different heights. Easy to store when not used since it is collapsible.

A stable bottom edge ensures that the colander stands steady.

Good colander, bad steamerAnonymous reviewerWas very excited by the KLOCKREN; I needed a new steamer and colander this said it could do both and it packs away nicely. Great! It is good at cooking pasta and draining things, but makes for a poor steamer as it doesn't seal well due to the handles. It'll steam small amounts of broccoli fine but if you fill it up with smaller sized food I found it really struggled. I haven't had this issue with other steamers.3

I ended up with two collanders because I simply couldn’t decide which was best. This one here I’ve given 5 stars as it doubles up as a steamer too would you believe?! I dare say though I actually prefer the other a smidge more as it has wings that hold it over the sink for all your pasta draining desires. A fortuitous day indeed. The wonderful everyday. 5

What is stainless steel?
