Whenever I tried to wash it, a blue stain came off and even stained my hands, which is not normal. This raised serious concerns about the product’s safety and handling. Which should not release any dye or unusual coloring when soaked or cleaned.1

What is sol-gel ceramic non-stick coating?

Sol-gel non-stick is often called ceramic coating and is an increasingly common replacement for other non-stick coatings in frying pans. It comprises mostly of silica and is created by applying a gel-like solution to the product and drying it in an oven. The result is a hard, glossy surface with non-stick properties. Sol-gel can be produced in different colours, it withstands high heat, is easy to use and clean – and allows cooking with little or no fat.
