Card board desk Anonymous reviewerOver priced as Ikea would not use card board for its bed, wardrobe or other furniture, there is only a few millimetres of the veneer and inside is honeycomb cardboard which is very disappointing, the corners where the adjustable leg are solid chip board to fit the legs. I fitted a swing arm and drilled noticing this and the desk crumbled under the weight. The clamps bend and so I laid the desk on the side and used mending brackets, the screw which were not reinforced just turn in the hole apart from the reinforced corner areas and just have two legs, I am now either looking to replace the desk with an Ikea kitchen counter top but don’t want to ask there is nothing to screw the desk into or a third party Ikea top seller or another desk altogether. I use google Gemini to ask how best to fit the brackets and it was genius as I was planning on using coach bolts. I also used wood glue.
Nice functionality but poor quality Anonymous reviewerI like the functionality of the set, but I’m disappointed with the quality. The furniture board, veneers, and the ugly metal connection between the tabletop and the shelf are all low quality (I have no idea how something like that could be designed). Nevertheless, it is a cheap set — it’s just a shame that the quality is so poor.

Does as good quality as previously. Anonymous reviewerI have had Kallax units for 10 years with several house moves, and both in perfect condition. This one bought recently however is not as good quality. The table top chips very easily - for example putting a pair of dressmaking scissors on it has created a large chip out of the surface. Not happy with the quality now.
Great addition to workroomAnonymous reviewerI bought this unit to add to my workroom and also match my other units. It's very practical to have my bits and pieces beside me as I work. The table holds my sewing machine and also my cat as she sleeps beside me while I sew!
