Reviews
Doesn't hold togetherAnonymous reviewerThe pieces are held together by tiny metal pegs. These are useless and the whole thing just falls apart when you try and pick it up. Then some of the pegs just fall out completely. The pegs don't hold it together at all. Completely non-functional as a piece of furniture. And they scratch the surface of the shelf, leaving marks that are impossible to remove. Also, one of the sets of shelves I purchased came with one of the felt strips missing.
Black please!Anonymous reviewerWe have these for our white kallax and they're so useful. I have a black kallax in need of some too, so please Ikea, please make them in black 😁
Fell to bits in my handsAnonymous reviewerJust spent over and hour picking one of these up in town only to find that when I fitted it together and tried to put it in the shelf, the whole thing just broke up and all the holes splintered and the white vinyl chipped off. They don't stay together. Waste of my time and money.
ColourAnonymous reviewerGet idea for storage but could we have colours to match units ie black/brown
Appalling items - do not buyAnonymous reviewerI’ve never been so angry with something so simple. These units don’t fasten together, they just hang off small metal rods. Trying to slot the shelf into a Kallax proved impossible without the thing falling apart and the veneer cracking. They’re going back. Awful.
Divider for KallaxAnonymous reviewerOne of my favourite for Kallax.
GreatAnonymous reviewerVery snug fit in cube, looks good
Kalax shelfAnonymous reviewerSuper easy to put together and makes such a difference
MovementAnonymous reviewerBrilliant but they move with in the unit
Good space utilisationAnonymous reviewerTogether with plastic boxes from Tesco the storage space better utilises the space.
KallaxAnonymous reviewerHighly recommended easy to use, does the job nicely.
Great additionAnonymous reviewerI’m using these to allow me to store open top baskets. These are great as they stop all the wasted space above them.
Only One Colour Anonymous reviewerJust a pity that these only come in white.
Not As Good As They WereAnonymous reviewerI don’t know whether the Kallax unit tolerances have changed or these inserts. But they can now be an absolute pain to fit. I had to the lay the kallax as I had to push so hard to get the insert in.
BrilliantAnonymous reviewerMakes efficient use of storage space when separating items
Kallax shelf insertAnonymous reviewerFab product easy to assemble
Vastly increased storage for CDsAnonymous reviewerAbsolutely love my Kallax units. Great open storage and room dividers too. I have used various insets before (cupboards and drawers). CDs have been a challenge as their height fills less than half a cube. I spotted these and thought they might work. My units are black/brown so I was hesitant as only white available but it provides a great contrast. I’ve got my unit on legs sideways with access to both sides and have used below the shelf insert and on the shelf insert with CD’s back to back.
Two small pieces of advice:
1. The insert doesn’t look like it will hold much weight but it does
2. Loosen the Kallax units as it is a tight fit to insert and then retighten everything.
Simple perfection.Anonymous reviewerAnother addition to my Kallax collection. Easy to assemble and fit into my Kallax unit. Made organising my tiny home office space so much easier.
Great designAnonymous reviewerThis insert made my Kallax unit more usable. It is sturdy. It sits well in place and it looks good.
Looks goodAnonymous reviewerEasy to apply

Material
What is fibreboard?
Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
