Thrown it away! Anonymous reviewerI totally agree with the one star reviews here. I had an IKEA wok for years and it was great but after much use decided to replace it with this one. The coating is different and the first time I used it burn marks appeared on it when anything with sweetness was added like chilli sauce. Each time I used it, it got worse. Clearly IKEA have downgraded the coating but not the price. Eventually, I binned it. Definitely not worth the money.

A wok should be able to withstand high heat, but this product fails to do so. I followed proper usage and care instructions, yet the coating burn quickly, which is unacceptable. I believe this is a defect or a misrepresentation of the product's intended use.

I've only used it a few times and after maybe the second use, some points of the coating are turning dark.
I assume this is down to the heat used, which, unfortunately, woks aren't known for their low temperature cooking!
I'm hoping it's just a cosmetic issue, as the coating doesn't appear to have deteriorated properly yet. Time will tell.
Great easy to use panAnonymous reviewerI’ve been wanting to replace my Teflon pan for a while now and this one does such a better job and is safer. I accidentally forgot to put any oil in it for an omelette the other day and it still worked perfectly.

What is sol-gel ceramic non-stick coating?
Sol-gel non-stick is often called ceramic coating and is an increasingly common replacement for other non-stick coatings in frying pans. It comprises mostly of silica and is created by applying a gel-like solution to the product and drying it in an oven. The result is a hard, glossy surface with non-stick properties. Sol-gel can be produced in different colours, it withstands high heat, is easy to use and clean – and allows cooking with little or no fat.
