Perfect deskVerified BuyerI absolutely love everything about this desk. It is large enough that 2 people can sit and work at it if needed and the sit/stand feature has really helped as working from home can take a toll on my back. The dark wood with the cream legs is also really nice and feels expensive. The extra bits on the legs help to keep the desk really sturdy and stops it from wobbling like some other desks.5
Great table for home office and gamingVerified BuyerThe table is easy to assembly, great appearance and solid. I would absolutely recommend this table to anyone needing sit/stand table. The only drawback is control - it is too basic and without reminders to stand/sit ( you can only configure and see them in PC/MAC or mobile app). Would appreciate if there was an option for the better control - like linak DPG1B or DPG1C which actually work well with it though I paid extra to get it5
Great desk, but poor cablingVerified BuyerLove this desk as it rises to a perfect height for me to stand at (I'm 6'4"). Assembly was very straightforward, but let down by one of the cables. The cable in question is part number 199844 (in the UK) which runs from inside the desk frame to the power transformer. In the instructions and every video I watched, the cable is long enough to reach the ground when the desk is at its highest setting so that the transformer can rest on the floor. Our cable was about 30cm long, meaning that the transformer hangs under the desk with all the pressure being on the socket it plugs into INSIDE the desk frame which is inaccessible when the top is on. In the end I had to duct-tape the transformer to the frame in order to remove this pressure. It looks rubbish, but the desk works. Am waiting on a replacement part, but not holding out any hope that it won't be exactly what I already have. The instructions also show the power cable to be short, but ours is really long. The overall length of the two cables plus transformer is about right, it's just that the cables are the wrong ratio.3
A well built and sturdy desk with a few caveats...Verified BuyerThe good things about this desk are it’s stability. The legs feel solid and sturdy and the aesthetics are good. The biggest drawback is that the top features a hollow core construction which feels a little disappointing given the price point that Ikea offers this desk at. The other drawback is that if you have a lot of heavy equipment to place on this desk you may run into problems with the motors slowing down. But for ordinary day to day home office use it should prove more than adequate.4
Lovely uppy downy deskLee F in BradfordI needed this desk due to a neck injury which means I need to stand to study and work sometimes. It was delivered without touch and I managed to assemble it in under an hour with a little help for the heavy bits. It moves up and down smoothly and also can connect to your phone by bluetooth for remote control of the height adjust. Quality is good which I would expect at the price point :)5
Perfect deskHitMe75I have been using this desk daily now for almost 3 months and its brilliant. Very well built, easy to assemble and very sturdy. I would highly recommend.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light and resource-efficient, yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
