So good I bought a second oneAnonymous reviewerI bought the Idanas bedside cabinet for my spare bedroom. I was a little worried as it was flat pack and I am not very good at practical work. When I got it all out of the box I was even more worried seeing all the parts. However the picture instructions were so good even I was able to assemble it. When finished I was so happy with the quality of the cabinet I went back to Ikea and bought a second one.

Stylish and practicalAnonymous reviewerWe purchased 2 Idanas bedside tables to complete our bedroom furniture. We had recently purchased 2 x 100cm PAX wardrobes and the Idanas shelf unit. These are well made and finish off our bedroom refit perfectly. They are a good size. I like the height and the drawer space is very roomy providing lots of storage space.
Easy to assemble, sturdy, smart-looking bedside cabinet.Anonymous reviewerLike most flatpack kits, this is a heavy box, 15kg, so care is needed with lifting and handling. The carton is glued and has to be pulled apart to gain access. Packing is well-designed, so parts do not rub together in transit. There are 3 separate plastic pouches of parts which are opened in sequence as the assembly progresses. You can count the parts without opening the pouches; I recommend tipping them out into a small box or tray for ease of assembly after confirming that all the parts are present. Careful attention to the detailed instruction book is necessary to ensure correct assembly, but the result is pleasing. This product is worth the money.

Poor qualityAnonymous reviewerThe drawer doesn't properly fit like in the pictures, it is not horizontal and the gap from the shelf is uneven. The shelf is not secured to the frame and can lift off if you apply a force on its edge. There are pieces made of fibreboard that emit an irritating smell of sawdust. Terrible quality.

The drawer is a little stiff to open and close, somewhat negating the soft close mechanism. But for a single bedside drawer that isn't used much, it's not a big deal.
I also wish they sold a glass top for it like they do with both the Hemnes bedside tables and the larger Idanas chest of drawers.
Great looking and solid.Anonymous reviewerI bought two of these in the brown finish. Delivery was very efficient and I was texted and phoned before delivery. A friendly guy brought them to my door and left them there as I requested. They were quite heavy to take up to the bedroom but not too bad.
I took all the bits out of the box and laid them on the floor. You will need a screwdriver with both straight edge and a Philips one as well. You may also need a small hammer to knock in some of the dowels.
The instruction booklet was pretty clear and it was easy to construct the cabinet. I think it is a one man job, but I am reasonably confident in doing simple diy.
The finished item looks really smart and the draw is soft close, which is a nice touch. It looks like an expensive item and I think is good value for money as it looks good and is pretty solid.
I would definitely recommend this item. The second one I put together even quicker as I knew what to expect. I would allow about 45 minutes to an hour for completion.

What is fibreboard?
Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
