Sturdy shelving, easy to assembleAnonymous reviewerI am a great fan of the Hyllis shelves. They always come together like little miracles when you assemble them, look elegant and lean but are very solid and sturdy.
I did manage to tear one of the holes at the back of the cover, where the wall fastening is supposed to go when slipping it on, as it was a bit of a snug fit, but I would still highly recommend the covers, if you're using the shelving outdoors. Just be gentle with them!5
oKAnonymous reviewerSturdy shelves and cover seems strong. There are fastenings so that you can secure the shelves to something. Could do to be deeper, as you can only get one seed tray on each shelf3
Fit for purpose, flap could do with velcroAnonymous reviewerI use it as a cold frame, works great. I like the spacing between the shelves, because it allows the sun to reach in far enough.
When the flap is opened, it doesn't have a velcro bit to attach it on the side to avoid it flapping in the wind. Should be an easy fix for Ikea, I would think. I made a makeshift solution with a rope that wraps around.
The shelves do get quite warm in the direct sunlight.
Assembly was doable. With 2 sets of hands, we followed the instructions. The order of putting the screws in (one side of the beam for each beam, then the other side of the same beam) mattered for us and it was pretty much frustration free. I also have the 'half' Hyllis and it works well too, although the spacing between the shelves doesn't seem to be as high and creates a bit more shade in the back.5
Top shelvingAnonymous reviewerGreat for keeping shelves dust free with a cover5
Great mini zippy greenhouseAnonymous reviewerIve had mine 3 years and its going strong. I leave peat on the bottom shelf and plants on all the others. Through windy winters etc, its never moved or fallen. A great buy5
Metal shelving: it worksAnonymous reviewerMetal shelving: it works in the back room5
Great solid shelving unitAnonymous reviewerReally solid when built. Only bit I had trouble with was keeping the 'feet' on. But the unit is perfect for my needs.5
GreatAnonymous reviewerGreat value, easy to assemble. Does the job!5
Great product.Anonymous reviewerI got this one with the tall unit. Has the same quality of workmanship. The galvanised finish is good. A lot better than a lot of things I have bought with a galvanised finish. Should be fine left out over the winter.5
Great product.Anonymous reviewerThe shelves are well galvanised. Will be fine in the garden over the winter.
Very easy to put together. Very sturdy.5
Solid shelving unitAnonymous reviewerEasy to assemble and great it has a cover as it is going to be used outside. Being galvanised is helpful against rust.5
Versatile small galv steel shelves unit Anonymous reviewerUsed mainly in the garden kitchen and hallway, so far very versatile easy to build, easy to clean, easy to move around to where you need to use it, handy it's got a plastic cover, I've mostly used the cover when it's outside 5
Outdoor shelvesAnonymous reviewerExcellent 5

GOOD BUYAnonymous reviewerPerfect shelf for my outbuildings. Thanks.5
Mmmmmm!Anonymous reviewerFound it difficult to align hole’s whilst assembling. Cover fits really well. 2
Value for moneyAnonymous reviewerQuite cheap and works really well for half outdoor storage 5
OkishAnonymous reviewerWe got it for our large deck, where we built a garden. Assembly wasn't too bad.
I still keep some plants and seedlings indoors at night (11C - 13C), so this assembly I hoped to help with that, and with protecting from heavy rain the sensitive plants.
Being made of metal, during spring and summer days, if the structure catches the direct sunlight, even the 8am sun, it will heat. A lot. So best to have that in mind when you plan. However, this might actually help in November and during the winter months. Would I buy again? I'll give it a winter also before deciding.4
Not sureAnonymous reviewerI choose this as thought it would last longer than the aluminium pole type version of a small greenhouse. I’m not sure if it is better so far, it’s smaller and would be harder to take down. The cover seems less sturdy. It is a bit annoying to put up and to start with the holes don’t line up, but as other reviews have said you just have to keep going and it all comes together in the end. 3
