The fabric gives very good protection against the sun’s UV rays as it has a UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) rating of 25+, which means it blocks 96% of the ultraviolet radiation.
The parasol pole is made of aluminium which means it won’t rust.
It’s easy to keep the canopy clean and fresh since you can easily remove and machine wash it.
It’s easy to open and close the parasol by pulling the handle up or down. The parasol automatically locks in open position.

It is tall so it's awkward to push up if you aren't very tall. It would be great if the height was adjustable. It does need a heavy base in case there's a gust of wind.

The central stem is quite wide and didn’t fit through the hole in our patio table, or our existing bases, so be sure to check measurements. We found a workaround so no problem. Gives a lot of shade so perfect for the heatwave.

The tension mechanism for holding it up looks like it will last a long time unlike the cheap and nasty catches or pulley systems on much of the competition. It does take some strength to push into place though, especially if mounted in a table.
However I have deducted a couple of stars because it is mis-advertised. It looks nothing like the image on the IKEA website. Rather than a tasteful dark grey, it is an alarmingly pale grey, paler than concrete. The material is at least decently thick so it does block the Sun but it's not the look we were hoping for.
