Reviews

CoverAnonymous reviewerPlease please can you make a replacement cover1
I have had no issues with the gazebo. BUT the cover?Anonymous reviewerI've had no issues with the gazebo frame. Very good quality and one year on it looks as new. Was elected by the back door entrance into the garden aligning with the gutter. The house door opens into the gazebo which is cool. I added some flooring and waterproof sides so it's like an extension. Except one problem. The first cover started to leak immediately from the middle seam. IKEA gave me a free replacement with the same results. Why on earth can't those making the covers understand that without reinforcing the seams and joints where they've sown the vecro they're definitely going to leak? No torns anywhere else for a year. Other than that I normally spray the cover with a hose while still attached to remove dust and residue from environmental elements.4
Cover does not last and no replacements available to buyAnonymous reviewerSimply, I've got a metal frame in the garden that's now useless. The cover lasts less than a year and deteriorates badly in any weather. The sun makes it brittle, the rain makes it weak, the wind destroys it, especially if it's weakened by rain or sun. I would have said any British weather, but the location is irrelevant. I've had replacement canopies before from IKEA and they are still available in other countries, including Germany but they won't ship overseas. If you continue to sell this item, I'd suggest getting the canopies back in stock sharpish. Looking at these reviews, your have hundreds of customers in a similar situation. I wouldn't recommend this item due to only getting one summer (at best) out of it. Where's the sustainability of this item? You're paying £150 to throw it away after one year or be left with a useless metal frame. Looks like IKEA have no issues destroying the environment and this item ending up in landfill for the sake of a £20 replacement.1
All parts correct. Fairly east to erect.Anonymous reviewerAll parts correct and fairly easy to erect. Looks good and hopefully will wear well.5
Not for the West of Scotland climateAnonymous reviewerAfter reading reviews about this it seemed to be the cover that caused most problems to I made sure I took it off, especially in windy weather. However, have reassembled for the season, rust is the main issue. It was up for a short time last summer, from August, but it hasn’t withstood the weather since spring and I’m left with streams of rusty water on the decking. Not at all happy and will be seeking a refund.1
Cover is really bad quality & they don’t sell replacementsAnonymous reviewerI bought this last year. The frame is exactly what we need. The cover - which has not been on all winter - I just put it back on for our nice weather, is obviously not UV resistant, it’s literally worn away and combusted! Really disappointing as I thought it would be as easy as ordering a new one, but apparently they are not for sale so now I’m left with a metal frame?! Had I known I would have got one summer season out of this I would not have wasted my money.1
Please bring back replacement coversAnonymous reviewerI’ve had the gazebo for a couple of years. I’ve liked after it, taking the cover off at the end of the season to store away. Last month I was caught out by a windy day and the cover ripped apart and can not be repaired. I thought surely Ikea has replacements as this must happen often. Please, please bring back the canopy’s to buy. I have a useless frame. Anyone buying this would be disappointed if they knew you can’t buy a new cover when necessary. 1
Waste of timeAnonymous reviewerI've had this product 3 years. I've had to buy 2 replacement covers due to wear and tear. I've gone to purchase one this year and, they seem to of stopped selling the canopy!! So, I'm not left with a metal frame only. The canopies were only ever left up for the summer season. It's not like they were out all year either. They are very flimsy. Just a shame I'm now left with a frame only!1
Great for two seasons onlyAnonymous reviewerGiven ikea's commitment to recycling and sustainability it's quite odd that they don't either make the canopy more resilient or provide aftermarket versions. We've had hours for 5 years and there was a replacement available 3 years ago but once again the canopy has failed and the velcro has ripped at it seems and it is no longer fit for purpose becoming just a trap for the rain. So only buy if you're happy to take the frame down the tip in two years time!2
Gone rustyAnonymous reviewerOnly had it up 2 weeks and it’s going rusty already, had to take it down as it was staining my decking, not happy, waste of £1501
Great but....Anonymous reviewerThe material is not very resistant to UV light and after 2 summers, not up full-time, it literally fell apart. IKEA don't seem to sell replacements which is really annoying and unnecessary. Steel frame lasts years cover gone inside 2 years. However a smart person does sell aftermarket online. 3
Gazebo great negative is cannot buy canopyAnonymous reviewerBought one 6 yrs ago perfect & no option to buy canopy then but it only lasted 2 summers as material thin & thread weak. Tried to find size without success but then ikea started selling canopy on its own & not expensive, bingo was so so happy & bought 2. Now don’t find canopy on website to buy as an extra. Very very disappointed & don’t understand why it is no longer available as I’m sure was popular going by other reviews. Please please ikea can you get these again as impossible to get exact size match without having one made to measure which is very expensive. Now have a gazebo without a canopy so not fit for purpose!! Feeling very frustrated by this. My product ratings are for frame only. The top would be low ratings due to short longevity & poor quality of material. Ikea the canopy material needs a rethink as not durable, perhaps use same material as parasols & gazebos have. Hope Ikea listen & take the reviews on board & take action & have happy satisfied customers again.we wait!4
Why? No replacement canopy??Anonymous reviewerI like many others that have written a review are complaining that you do not sell the replacement canopy covers anymore! Obviously the pergola has been a popular buy and it is still selling but as pointed out is of no use without the replacement canopy as the original doesn’t last long rendering the pergola then useless! It falls under not fit for purpose so may I suggest that you very quickly bring the replacement canopy cover back for sale as so many are asking for it and of course it will redeem the name of Ikea or maybe you take back everyone’s pergola with a full refund? I really hope you will bring this item back into stock asap.4
No replacement canopies available Anonymous reviewerThe canopy lasts a year and they have now discontinued replacements which makes the gazebo useless. 1
Canopy coversAnonymous reviewerBought 2 of theses and just stuck with 2 frames now . Can't buy replacement covers anymore. Very disappointed with this. Spent £300 just to look at frames stuck in the back garden. You need to get this sorted for the hundreds of people in the same situation. Or at least refund monies . You advertised extra covers for this product . And low and behold there are no longer in production. Very Very disappointed and annoyed. 1
No replacement canopies!Anonymous reviewerDo not buy - you'll be stuck with a pointless frame!1
No replacement coversAnonymous reviewerWe are Stuck with 2 of these gazebos. Tried every day on your website and loads of ppl are saying they are discontinued is this Right . Im not happy at all if this is the correct information. Why sell something if you cant replace it . Gutted seeing as we are pensioners and cant afford to get new gazebos we was hoping you could get covers for these.1
StunningAnonymous reviewerStunning item..was easy to put together Canopy was waterproof but we left it on and it snowed.. the weight tore the Sean's in a couple of places..no replacements in ikea?? Anyway we bought some super hild fabric tape ..cost £6 from toolstation as we applied to both sides ..im not saying it going to be better than a new canopy but as the tape is clear and tears were about 3 to 6 inches each its working well.so far..I looked a tent repair tape but was expensive.. this is a fantastic quick fix ..hope it helps..we welcome another summer now4
Useless without canopy replacementAnonymous reviewerBought 2 think it was value for money. Just 1 summer later the canopy ripped. I have tried numerous times to order replacement for the canopy and contacted customer service only to get a reply saying not available. IKEA stop making this product if you can’t provide replacement for the canopy. Useless and waste of money, just left with worthless poles.2
Avoid avoid avoid! Anonymous reviewerCouldn’t give it no stars so had to give 1! Don’t buy I’m stuck with 3 in my garden I now can’t use! You can’t buy the replacement covers (which i brought extra when I brought the gazebos!) and in 2 1/2 years I’ve gone through 8 covers! I remove over winter, the slightly breeze and they rip! Worst thing I’ve ever brought from IKEA (and I’ve brought a lot!) 1

What is steel?

Steel has unique characteristics when it is stretched and shaped since it remains strong. It provides strength to everything from skyscrapers and cars to bed frames and outdoor furniture. The steel industry is moving in the direction of more energy-efficient production and stronger steel qualities. It doesn’t lose any of its properties when recycled and today steel is one of the most recycled materials in the world.
