Barely cut out light and have annoying hooksTyvg66These curtains are ok if you only want to slightly dim the incoming light. If you want blackout curtains, do not buy these. The hooks supplied to fix them are bizarre. They have no obvious way of working and the illustrations on the packaging are no help. I resorted to safety pins but old fashioned curtain hooks would do the job.1
They do not reduce light behind a curtainfrgdfhyjI can still see the light through the curtain, not much difference than the one without...overpriced and should not be called 'darkening' lining in the description . Do not buy if you expect darkening or black out!1
Scarcely BlackoutPhotophobicDouble thickness, they reduced light level, but not blackout by any means.1
Perfect as a curtain and as a linerHabee336I used these as curtains by themselves, they look lovely up and hang nice, a nice light grey in colour and silky to the feel, I am very happy with the quality5
We use them as curtainsTriciaSLovely silver grey fabric. We have hung them as curtains!5
Beautiful silver curtainsDeanna13I absolutely love the colour and the way they look they’re so pretty. Only thing I’d change is being able to choose the size of them other than that I love them.4
Perfect sizeDeesThe colour is really nice and simple. It also work well in blocking out the light. For the price I think it is great value for money.5
Dodgy connector clipsCurtains are not total black out with our curtain rail, but an improvement for sure. Problem for us were the clips provided to connect it to the main curtains. Think of a plastic safety pin which snaps under a little pressure. Should be sold with spares or avaluable separately. We snapped 6 hanging them.4
Very fiddlyThese do provide adequate blackout to curtains but they are incredibly tricky to attach with the hooks provided and come unattached whilst hanging and at the end of the curtain when hung.2
curtain liningc219bought these to try and reduce light coming in to a bedroom - they are fine but would have preferred in a cream colour to go with the linen curtains they were lining. Good fit to ikea curtains4
Well made curtains very good lengthJac jac 3Well made very long easy to cut to size look really nice at the window5
Improve curtains dramaticallyThese improve curtains by keeping out light, keeping in heat and making the curtain hang better. Pretty easy to fit. I would prefer if they weren't so synthetic or if they had a cotton version but I can't find any like that which are long enough for my bay windows and French doors. Incidentally I had to buy a set off eBay to fit some older Ikea curtains as they are now only 2.5m long.5
Very longSalsyGood to use as curtain rather than just lining. Only disadvantage needs taking up. Good colour and material.5
Good lengthFlat pack ninjaBought these liners specifically for the length. ( Tall windows) More light weight than I would have liked and not terribly opaque in bright sunlight. However they do provide a useful extra layer against the cold.3
Densely woven curtains or liners not only help you get a good afternoon nap by blocking out the sunshine. They also help you keep an even, comfortable temperature in your home by blocking out draughts in the winter and heat in the summer. That means – they help you save money on energy bills, too.
