design flaw: front panel screws not fit for purposeAnonymous reviewerAs per other reviews, there is a significant design problem with how the front panel attaches to the sides. The screws that hold the front panel are not strong enough to keep it attached under normal (and in even infrequent) usage with minimal weight in the drawers.
Unlike many other Ikea series (e.g. malm, besta etc) which require physically screwing a completely metal locking pin directly into the board, these Gladstad drawers use a plastic plug that "expands" when the screw is pulled by the locking nut. This mechanism simply does not have enough holding force to keep the panel attached when being pulled to slide the drawers out.
I used to have malm underbed drawers which used the normal metal screw design and they were absolutely rock solid.
@Ikea designers - if you are reading this please cross check the malm design and consider just replicating that design for screwing on the front panel!!

Do not buy!Anonymous reviewerAs with other reviews we’ve had the same experience- the front panel just comes off regardless of load or force on the drawer! Very poorly made. Unfortunately I am over the warranty period to return it and there doesn’t seem to be an alternative storage solution for the Single Gladstad bed!

Don't buy these under bed storage drawersAnonymous reviewerDon't buy these. They look good and fit under the Gladstad bed perfectly but are not up to the usual high standard that I expect from IKEA. The front face fell off within a week, the rest fell apart as we carried them to the car to return them to IKEA. I regularly build IKEA furniture, they weren't over loaded, it is a problem with the product. I have never returned an item before.
IKEA were very helpful and suggested alternatives which we bought instead.

Front panel started to come offAnonymous reviewerI bought four of these. The front panel started to come off in two of the boxes. I tried reattaching the boxes, but it didn't work.
Do not purchseAnonymous reviewerI purchased 6 drawers and the front panel started to come off one by one, after only a month or so usage. I am trying to fix each of them by myself but it seems that it is a design issue, and screws keep coming off either from the font panel or the drawer itself. I have to glue the panel but it obviously do not last long. I am a long time Ikea user but never experienced a quality issue. Very disappointed. Ikea should discontinue selling this product.
Waste of moneyAnonymous reviewerI bought 2 sets for my 2 daughters' GLADSTAD beds, one of them torn apart after a few days and another after a few weeks. The screws simply can't hold the side panel to the front panel. It is totally waste of money and I need to find other storage for their clothes.
