The rug is soft and textured, flatwoven with chunky and finer strands of beige and cream yarn. It's the sort of rug you can fold or roll for storage: there is no polypropylene backing.
I bought the round rug to help define a small desk and office chair area of a bedroom. It's lovely and cosy underfoot and the (Ikea) chair rolls easily.
I wouldn't dream of using this outside in the UK as the rug is soft and absorbent, and would become filthy and damp in no time at all, even in the height of summer.
