Reviews
FÅGELFJÄLLET Chest of 6 drawers, dark grey-blueAnonymous reviewerWhat an excellent purchase this was. It looked good on the web site, It looked even better when built. Really this chest of drawers are amazing quality. The build was easy with two people, the plans where clear and accurate. The size of the drawers are Hugh, deep as they are wide. Plus they are very well finished indeed. I was absolutely blown away with them. So if you are after a large set of drawers I highly recommend the FÅGELFJÄLLET Chest of 6 drawers. also come in a choice of colours.
Shockingly poor quality – the worst I have experienced in over 20 years as an IKEA customerAnonymous reviewerI have been an IKEA customer for over 20 years and have never experienced such appalling quality.
I purchased two FÅGELFJÄLLET chests of drawers and was shocked by the materials and finish. The particleboard is extremely loose and fragile, with edges and corners literally crumbling during careful assembly. The surface coating chips incredibly easily, exposing the material underneath.
We assembled both units carefully on a carpet, yet chips, dents and damaged edges were already apparent before the furniture was even used.
Even the fittings are problematic, with some screws failing to secure properly in the handles.
I understand that IKEA uses particleboard, but I have never encountered anything this poor. I seriously doubt these units will withstand normal everyday use.
Extremely disappointing and unacceptable quality for furniture price
Chest of drawsAnonymous reviewerThis is my fifth piece and unfortunately 2 pieces got damaged i called customer service and was directed to store who swapped them as i was covered with family card great units and customer service
Chest of DrawersAnonymous reviewerLovely chest of drawers. Looks more expensive than it was.
Would definitely buy again. It took a while to put together but if you follow the instructions you won’t have a problem.
Would highly recommend. These will increase in price for sure. Anonymous reviewerGreat quality and a really solid set of drawers. Everyone asks about them and is always shocked when we tell them they’re from IKEA.
Installation was a bit of a faff, particularly as the wheel tracks need to be fitted on the opposite side to what the instructions show.
The safety features are excellent, both for the wall fixings and the drawer cables, which give you plenty of peace of mind.
Big and BeautifulAnonymous reviewerThis is a beautiful and massive chest. Took 6 hours to assemble on my own. Pleasure to look at and use
Good unit for the money. (Blue 6 draw unit)Anonymous reviewerWe didnt purchase this for our bedroom.
As usual with IKEA if you can get past the instruction booklet (read it twice before you start) you get a good product for the cost. It looks great as a storage unit in our back office. It took about 4.5 hours to build after you have opened the 3 boxes and counted every item to make sure its there. There are 3 numbered bags of fixings as well.
The draw unit is solid and as long as 2 of you move it around I suspect it will stay solid. I would say check the paint on the blue unit as ours was marked but we managed to buff it out. To be honest it looks that good we want to purchase the off white set for our spare bed room. You can only open one draw at a time on either side due to a pull line set at the back which I think is a well thought out idea.

Function solution
One drawer at the time
This product has a solution that allows only one drawer to be open at a time. If you open a second drawer before closing the first, the first drawer closes automatically. Remember – wall anchoring is the best way to reduce the risk of furniture tipping over.
