ESSEBODA sofa stands out with its soft comfort, generous shape and well-thought-out design – it’s great throughout the home and can be matched with other items in the series for versatile use.

Turned legs, fabric-covered buttons and well-sewn seams give a timeless, elegant and crafted feel.

The rounded and slightly lower armrests are comfortable to rest both your arms and head on – and the high backrest feels comfortable for both your neck and back.

Pocket springs that follow your body combined with high-resilience foam and fibre balls means that you both sink into the sofa and get support where it’s needed to enjoy a relaxed sitting position.

You can combine the sofa with ESSEBODA footstool to create a welcoming and comfortable chaise longue.

This cover is made from Knäbäck, a soft cotton and polyester fabric with a clear structure and a lively expression.

Cushions gone again!! Anonymous reviewerPurchased sofa Feb 2023. Had cushions replaced Feb 2024 only after having to go through resolver as would not honour guarantee. A year later and the cushions have gone again! So still have 8 year guarantee but cushions won’t even last another 6 months. I live alone and only use sofa in the evenings. Not happy at all. 2
Comfortable, but difficult assemblyAnonymous reviewerWe have found this sofa to be comfortable (higher back than most on sale, please Ikea manufacture more sofa's with higher backs so heads and necks are not flailing around) and attractive, goes well with other furniture. The downside for us was the assembly, although there were two of us we found it really physically challenging, especially engaging the arms with the back section.4

“When I designed ESSEBODA, I wanted to make a sofa series that adds character to the room. It has a traditional, elegant look in a contemporary, relaxed style. It’s generous, soft and welcoming with a high back and thick seat, yet the expression is light with turned legs and upholstery details. And it combines a cosy rounded shape with functions like storage in the bench and lower armrests that are nice to rest your head on. Pure comfort – that’s confirmed when you sit down!"
