More information
Reversible back cushions filled with polyester fibres provide soft support for your back and two different sides to wear.
Seat cushions filled with high resilience foam and polyester fibre wadding give comfortable support for your body, and easily regain their shape when you get up.
The Kilanda fabric with a melange effect is made of at least 90 percent recycled polyester and has a soft surface.
The cover is easy to keep clean since it is removable and machine washable.

The Ikea standard - but now changed?Anonymous reviewerWe've had Ikea Ektorp sofas for a long time and replaced many over the years. In moving to this 2026 edition, the width is a couple of centimeters wider, the standard of materials has dropped slightly (very trimmed back), but the biggest change is the cushons. These are no longer the same on both sides (i.e. reversible) so the top has a bulge in the centre of each one - meaning that the sofa feels like it has three distict seats rather than one long soft sofa. This is not so confortable and I hope that these bumps will subside with continued use.
The Ektorp is a staple and simple choice, sadly the latest design changes seem more cost driven than improvement and so I have down-graded my score. Are we keeping it; yes. Would we hope it will change with use; Yes. Would we buy it again if given the choice tomorrow? Maybe not, we'd definately do a bit more research and testing to make sure we'd be happy with the new design.
Sad that the latest improvement seem not to be so.

Comfortable sofaAnonymous reviewerSuch a good sofa for the price paid. It’s good covers are washable and that you can also purchase more covers in case of accidents or a change of colour scheme.
Cushions flat after 5 monthsAnonymous reviewerDespite following instructions to allow cushions to inflate, they are almost completely flat after 5 months in a single person home. Upon contacting IKEA for replacement my option is to return the entire sofa as they do not provide cushion replacements. So much waste in both time and resources. It is lovely, but think twice before ordering.

Ektorp sofaAnonymous reviewerVery sturdy build, but the seat cushion quality isn't the same as my old Ektorp sofa which we decided to replace after 10 years. They look and feel flat and have to be "plumped" daily after only 4 months use. They look too small for the covers! My granddaughter now has my old, but more comfortable, Ektorp sofa and chair.

Great value for money sofaAnonymous reviewerDecided to go for this sofa after reading the reviews and seeing it in store. The colour is v nice and having a dog washable covers v appealing. The length is good and accessorised with cushions and throws look more expensive than it cost. We paid extra to have it assembled which is a good idea. My only criticism is a bit more depth would be preferable that’s why I scored it 4 stars rather than 5 stars.
Replacement of old Ektorp sofaAnonymous reviewerTook a while to put together. Was a big worried about the feet being strong enough. Don't know why the sofa does not have a fabric underside as did the previous model. Pleased. Very comfortable. Cardboard packing took some getting off.
Easy to build, plain yet stylishAnonymous reviewerBought a three seater and a two seater. Very easy to build. A simple yet stylish design. Cushions are my only concern. Even with plumping and swapping around they quickly lose cushioning. Then again I am a rather large man!
