So disappointedAnonymous reviewerI am a ‘kallax’ fan but needed a large , tall bookcase for storage . Despite following all instructions I have been disappointed with this item. The shelf holding pins are flimsy and of poor quality and no matter how many adjustments I made , I have had to reinforce the shelf positions with beading .. also , top surface seems to be easy to mark and dent . . In fact I must have taken a knock prior to being delivered as I had to hide a dent to one of the uprights .2

Our go to Ikea stapleAnonymous reviewerAbsolutely love Billy bookcases and have enough in my home to start my own warehouse. We've used them to house blurays, games, crafts, toys and oh...I'm forgetting something...yes, of course....BOOKS!! My absolute go to. Reasonably priced and have had them at my last 7 house moves. They are durable and have generally stayed in one piece when moved. The hardest thing is working out which generation metal niblets are needed to place the shelves on.5

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
