Must buy!Anonymous reviewerHad this for a year now. This is a true Ikea classic winner. Sturdy, cheap and well made. Has tapered edges that let it stand up completely flat against a wall, meaning it's kept clean out the way, when not in use! It's bamboo, so oil it and do not put it in the dishwasher and it should last a long, long time. I use really sharp knives and stands up to chopping really well, although doesn't damage good steel easily. Absolute bargain and one of my all time favourite Ikea buys. X5

It's a good quality product. I would have liked it a little thicker but it doesn't detract from its use. I especially like that it's flat and not bowed so doesn't spin when chopping veggies etc.

What is bamboo?

Strong, flexible and one of the world's fastest growing plants – bamboo has many uses that make it an excellent renewable material. It’s a type of grass and usually grows without the need for fertilizers or irrigation. After being harvested, it grows new shoots that are ready for harvesting after 4-6 years. At IKEA we use bamboo for items like furniture, bathroom decor, baskets and lamps – and we are constantly exploring more areas of use for this versatile material.
