Do not buy the METOD line—especially with the dark green coating.Anonymous reviewerI bought the IKEA METOD kitchen for my first flat, misled by staff claims that it was a sturdy, durable line. Just 7 months in, it looks 7 years old. Fragile Dark Green Finish: The green coating chips off at the slightest touch. It’s so delicate I now have to pay someone to wrap the entire kitchen. Poor Quality Melamine: Moving a simple tin can inside the cabinet scrapes off the white coating. A minor cleaning spill under the sink caused the board to swell and the melamine to strip off immediately. Appalling Customer Support: Spent over 2 hours on hold, waited nearly 2 months just to be asked for photos, and I'm still waiting for a follow-up. I bought this for a hassle-free experience, but the materials are shockingly low quality. Avoid the METOD line and this green coating completely.1
Colour is Very DifferentAnonymous reviewerThe Beige looks more like a mild brown. Nothing like the photo of the 'made' kitchen on the listing.1
AwfulAnonymous reviewerWent for the beige as my kitchen leads up off of A beige sitting room, it looks grey I absolutely hate it and don’t get me started on the ektorp work top was told it was white marble effect it’s also grey and splashback we ordered to have made was sold as 3mmthick according to the planner it is 12 mm like a slim worktop whole kitchen is a Complete mess wish I hadn’t wasted my money with ikea1
DO NOT BUYAnonymous reviewerThought I was getting my dream kitchen but they don’t tell you how easily this range scratches and they don’t tell you how poor their customer service is post sale. The smallest scuff scratches the paint off and it’s such a thin layer with no scratch protection that after a year, it looks run down. They don’t even offer you some touch up paint or tools to help fix it. It doesn’t come under the 10 year warranty so don’t be fooled by the misleading advertising. AVOID AT ALL COSTS1
Classy and sleekAnonymous reviewerLove the colour and sleek look of these doors. Used them on units in our living room. They look stunning!5
Strong and easy to cleanAnonymous reviewerStrong and easy to hang. Clean well too.5
Poor quality - scrape very easilyAnonymous reviewerThese doors are cheap for a reason. Although the colour is great, we hung 2 doors and both scraped through to the white carcass in 3 different places, before we even got the handles on. We’ve fitted Ikea kitchens and doors on multiple occasions and use/build their stuff all the time. But these were very disappointing. Returned. 2
Havstorp cupboards Anonymous reviewerLovely sturdy and loads of space to store things5
Looks classy , gorgeous neutral Anonymous reviewerWe paired this door with a white stone worktop and brass handles , everyone loves it and looks so much more e pensive than it is 5
Nice colour, but leaves finger marks and easily marks revealing the white base colour. Anonymous reviewerThis product was chosen because of the nice Matt dark green colour. Unfortunately the door and any of the other items in the same range had to be handled with great care. Wearing gloves when fitting is a recommendation, to avoid too much manual handling. Any slight knock or gentle scrape would leave a permanent mark which cannot be removed. 2
New kitchenAnonymous reviewerWe now have a new ikea kitchen, although some doors and bits were delayed ikea compensated us for any inconvenience, we are really pleased with the finished kitchen and would recommend ikea design and kitchens to anyone. 5
Looks fabAnonymous reviewerGreat product, reasonably priced, easy to install.5
Great cupboard doorAnonymous reviewerEasy to install with the clip in hinges. Nice grey colour. Good strong quality. 5
Great basic door for Pax Anonymous reviewerWe brought 4 doors for Pax wardrobes but we were using them to make under stair storage. Good basic , functional, plain doors they look very smart. 5
Beautiful frontsAnonymous reviewerWe have just finished having our kitchen fitted and these fronts surpassed my expectations, really smooth and clean looking. They feel really nice and are a good weight. A nice change to grey or white5

The art of adding colour to the kitchen

Fancy a kitchen with colour but unsure if it suits your home? To make your choice a little easier, our colour specialists have done a thorough job of developing the muted tones for HAVSTORP kitchen doors and drawer fronts.

Two years. That’s how long it usually takes us to create a new kitchen door and drawer front. Developing the right colour is a part of that process. Flavia Melesi, who is a product developer, says that the team usually begin by looking at what is happening in the world around them. “It’s not the fast trends that influence the palette on kitchen doors and drawer fronts, but more slow movements. We want to find colours you can live with for a long time – regardless if your home is big, small, modern or traditional.”

Carefully selected colours

For HAVSTORP, the team developed a selection of muted colours that work well on bigger surfaces like kitchen doors and drawer fronts. The next step was to see what happens with the colours in various light. “We place every colour sample in a lightbox where we can simulate several types of daylight and lighting to see how the colour behaves. Our job means that you can trust the colour, that a grey kitchen actually always looks grey,” says Flavia. “You should feel confident with your choice of colour.”

Coordinated with your home

Since we at IKEA have the whole home under one roof, we can always develop and test new products against the rest of our range “That way we can see the colours in the right context and safeguard that they work together with countertops, appliances, sinks and different types of wood. We also coordinate them with the rest of the home so it can become a harmonious whole.” And when you have decided on a colour for your HAVSTORP kitchen doors and front drawers, the fun part of choosing knobs, handles and accessories remains. “All those things that give your kitchen a personal touch and the feeling of coming home to your very own kitchen.”

Material

What is fibreboard?

Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
