Please note that by submitting a review to our website you will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.

General

We display both positive and negative reviews but all content is moderated to ensure it is appropriate for publication on our website. This means that after you submit your review it will not immediately appear on our website. We reserve the right to accept or reject any product review submitted to us and we may edit the length and/or content of any review as we see fit.

You agree that you will not submit any content:

  • That is false, inaccurate, misleading, defamatory, libellous, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, suggestive, harassing, threatening, abusive, fraudulent or otherwise objectionable;
  • That infringes any third party’s copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret or other proprietary rights or rights of publicity or privacy;
  • For which you were compensated or granted any consideration by any third party;
  • That violates any local, national or international law;
  • That references other companies or websites;
  • That contains any computer viruses, worms or other potentially damaging computer programmes or files;
  • That includes unsolicited promotions, mass mailings or spamming, political campaigning, advertising or solicitations;
  • That includes the personal information of any third party.

Once your review has been submitted you will not be able to edit it. If you would like to have your review removed from our website, please contact us.

We are currently unable to publish reviews that are not written in English.

Personal information

To make sure your review can be published, please do not include any personal information including your full name, contact details or email address.

In order to comply with the law, to protect our systems and customers, or to ensure the integrity and operation of our business and systems, we may access and disclose any information we consider to be necessary or appropriate, including, without limitation, user profile information, IP address and posted reviews. Customer service issues and safety concerns

Ownership of content

By submitting a review you grant IKEA and its affiliates a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable and fully sub-licensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, translate, distribute, publish, create derivative works from and publicly display such review throughout the world in any media without compensation to you. You acknowledge that we may choose to provide attribution of your comment or review at our discretion. 

Our liability to you

Although we will do our best to moderate all reviews posted, we assume no liability for any reviews posted, stored or uploaded by you or any third party. We will not be held liable for any loss incurred by you as a result of a review published on our website.


Fake Reviews Policy

1. Introduction

At IKEA, we value the honest opinions and experiences of our customers. Ratings and reviews help us to improve our products and services and assist other customers in making informed decisions when making purchases. To protect the integrity and usefulness of our reviews, we have established the following policy which explains how we manage customer reviews in line with UK consumer protection law, including the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (the fake reviews provisions of which came into force in 2025).

2. Who can leave a review?

Only customers who have purchased or used a product or service are invited to submit a review. We may verify your purchase history to confirm your eligibility.

3. Submitting a review

Customers can submit ratings or reviews through our website. By submitting a review, you agree not to:

  • provide information that is false, inaccurate or misleading;
  • conceal any incentivisation you may have received in relation to the product or service (including discounts, products provided free of charge or any other incentive);
  • violate any law or post content that is threatening, offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate;
  • share personal information about yourself or others; and
  • breach any aspect of this policy.

4. Positive and Negative Reviews

Ratings and reviews submitted by customers will be presented accurately and transparently.

We publish both positive and negative reviews, provided they comply with this policy. We do not selectively publish positive reviews. Negative reviews are not removed or suppressed simply because they express criticism.

5. False Reviews

A fake review is a consumer review that: (a) purports to be, but is not, based on a person’s genuine experience of the product or service reviewed; (b) is submitted by a person who has not purchased or used the product or service being reviewed; or (c) is submitted by a person who has been offered or given an incentive to submit the review without that incentive being clearly disclosed.

We are committed to ensuring that all reviews reflect real customer experiences. We never commission, facilitate or permit fake reviews. The following actions are also strictly forbidden:

  • Submitting reviews on behalf of others or using false identities.
  • Posting reviews for products you have not personally used.
  • Coordinating with others to manipulate product ratings.

If we determine that a rating or review violates this policy, we reserve the right to remove it and take appropriate action, which may include suspending accounts or pursuing legal remedies.

6. Incentivised Reviews

Occasionally, we may invite customers to review products in exchange for an incentive (for example, a discount or a free product). We do not permit third parties (such as brands or suppliers) to offer incentives to customers for reviews without our knowledge and approval. In all cases where an incentive is offered:

  • The incentivised review will be clearly and prominently identified.
  • The incentives will not be contingent on a positive rating or review.

7. Reporting Reviews

If you suspect a review is fake or does not comply with this policy, you can report it by following these steps:

  1. Go to the product page
    Navigate to the relevant product on our website.
  2. Open the reviews section
    Scroll to the section of the page where customer ratings and reviews are displayed or click on the “Reviews” tab/link.
  3. Locate the review you want to report
    Browse through the reviews and identify the specific review you believe is fake or misleading.
  4. Select the “Report” option
    Click the “Report” button or link displayed next to or below the review.
  5. Complete the reporting form
    You may be asked to provide details about why you believe the review is inappropriate or fake. Fill in the required information.
  6. Submit your report
    Click the “Submit” button to send your report to us for review and will aim to respond to reports within 14 days.

8. Moderation

Before reviews are published, we take reasonable and proportionate steps to verify that they are genuine, including checking that the reviewer has a verified purchase or usage history for the relevant product or service. Reviews may also be checked by both automated tools and our teams to identify unusual or suspicious activity after publication. We will investigate reports from customers who believe a review may be fake or misleading. Reviews that do not meet this policy will be removed, and accounts that repeatedly break the rules may be suspended.

We will regularly assess the effectiveness of our prevention and removal processes and proactively monitor reviews to prevent the publication of any that do not meet our guidelines.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Where we make material changes, we will notify you in advance by posting a notice on this page and, where appropriate, by email. We will indicate at the top of this page when the policy was last updated and provide a summary of what has changed.
