How sustainable is IKEA?

As one of the world's largest retail operators, we are determined to contribute to the fight against climate change.

We aim to become more sustainable and responsible by 2030. We want to support a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, circular economy and climate positivity as well as fairness and fairness in all our operations. If you wish, you can familiarise yourself with our global sustainability strategy.

With regard to the use of renewable energy, I am pleased to announce that IKEA Finland has long used only renewable energy in its operations: we produce at least as much electricity as our own consumption. In Finland, wind turbines and the use of geothermal heat have proven to be the most efficient ways to produce renewable energy and thus save the environment. We currently own five wind farms in Finland. Finland has been the most energy-efficient IKEA country for several years.
