One of the most fundamental aspects of yoga is the environment. Prepare a small kit
The good thing about practising yoga at home is that you don't need any special equipment to meditate. While there are specific accessories that help with certain techniques and different types of yoga, you don't need to get too complicated to perform basic exercises at home.
Try preparing abasic meditation kitin a small box or basket. What goes inside? Simple: add some aromatic candles in your favourite fragrance, a small towel and comfortable clothing, such as a soft sweatshirt and slippers to keep you warm if you need it.
You can employ some of the items in your home to meditate even more comfortably, such as using your rug or carpet as a classic yoga mat, or sofa cushions as a support to protect your knees or as a seat on the floor (even a pouffe will work for this). What do you think?
Play around with your decor: get inspired
It's more than just physical exercise: pay attention to every detail around you and turn every moment into a stimulating experience for your mind.
Through organisation and decoration, you can create a zen atmosphere that's perfect for your moment of disconnected relaxation. Ensure that your surroundings inspire and motivate you, but be careful: you don't want to get distracted.
Try playing around with stimuli: light an aromatic candle, lower the intensity of the other lights in the room, put on some ambient or instrumental music andrelieve yourself from all the stress.
