What payment methods and financing options does IKEA offer?

Whether you're planning a new kitchen or just grabbing an IKEA hot dog, we've got you covered. Depending on where you shop and what's on your shopping list, your preferred payment method may change. But don't worry: you can choose from many popular, easy and convenient options to pay for your IKEA shopping with peace of mind.

1. Payment at the IKEA store

You can use the following payment methods on site:
  • Cash payment
  • Girocard
  • Credit card (VISA, Mastercard, American Express)
  • IKEA Gift & Refund Card
  • IKEA Family Credit Card
  • IKEA for Business Payment Card
  • Financing Services
  • IKEA Family payment card and IKEA credit card can no longer be applied for
Click & Collect & pay for deliveries on site
If you would like to complete your online payment on site, contact a member of staff at the advice desk.
You will receive an email with a link to our online payment platform.
In addition to the usual means of payment, you can also purchase on account with Ratepay from an order value of €1,000 (only usable on the day of purchase).

Pick-up when buying on account

  • The goods will only be handed over upon presentation of an official photo ID.
  • You can authorize another person. This requires:
    • your completed and signed power of attorney
    • their own ID
 

2. Payment in Planning Studios

The following payment methods are available:
  • Klarna Purchase on Invoice
  • Credit card (VISA, Mastercard, American Express)
  • PayPal
  • Mobile Payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay)
  • IKEA Gift & Refund Card
  • IKEA Family Credit Card
  • IKEA for Business Payment Card
  • Financing Services
  • No cash payment possible
  • IKEA Family payment card and IKEA credit card can no longer be applied for

3. Pay on IKEA.de

When buying online, you can use the following payment methods:
  • Klarna Purchase on Invoice

4. Payment in the IKEA app

In the app, you can pay using the following methods:
  • Klarna Purchase on Invoice

  • PayPal

  • IKEA Gift & Refund Card
  • IKEA Family Credit Card
  • IKEA for Business Payment Card

  • You can't use gift cards or prepaid cards on Shop & Go.
 

5. Financing options

How can I apply for the IKEA Family credit card?
Find the financing that suits you – whether private or for your company.

IKEA Family Credit Card

  • No annual fee
  • 0% financing from 99 €*
  • At least 30 days interest-free and payment-free
Details on 0% financing:
You can convert purchases from €99 in online banking into financing with a term of 3, 10 or 20 months.
From €4,000, 36 or 48 months are possible.
Creditworthiness required. Contracting party: Ikano Bank AB (publ.), NL Germany, Wiesbaden.
The IKEA Family credit card can be completed both online via Ikano Bank and in the IKEA store.
After a successful credit check, the credit card can be used immediately, depending on the type of legitimation.

Online application via Ikano Bank

The online application is made directly via the Ikano Bank website.

Application in the IKEA store

Customers can also apply for the credit card directly in the store.
Procedure in the store:
  • Customers contact any employee in the store.
  • Employees assist with identification, application and signature.
  • Requirement: Customers must have a cell phone with them for identification purposes.

  • Ideal for larger projects
  • Fixed rates & fixed term
  • 800 € – 20.000 €
  • Terms 12–84 months
  • Up to 10 weeks to make your IKEA purchases
  • Effective annual interest rate 8.49% p.a.*
  • Simply apply online
Representative example:
5,000 € net loan, 60 months term, 8.49 % effective annual interest rate, monthly interest rate Instalment €101.82, final instalment €77.44, total amount €6,084.82.

6. Support in case of problems

 

Payment fails

  • Check your details (name, card number, CVV)
  • Make sure there are enough funds available
  • Try a different payment method
  • If it still doesn't work: Contact your bank
 

Coupon or discount code is not accepted

Please check:
  • Is the voucher still valid?
  • Does it apply to your desired product?
  • If you have entered it in the right place (vouchers only at the end des Check-outs)?
Notes:
  • Action cards (e.g. Advent calendars) cannot be redeemed online.
  • If there are several vouchers, system errors may occur. Try typing one at a time or restart the checkout process.
 

Payment link not working

Please try the following:
  • Use another browser
  • Copy link + paste into browser address bar
  • Clear Cookies & Clear Cache
  • Disable ad blockers
  • Try again at a later time
 

Problems paying in the IKEA app

In the shopping cart you will find the option of contacting customer service directly at any time.
