“Even if you’re not a gamer yourself, you probably know someone who is; there’s one in almost every family constellation,” says product developer Ola Kristensson. “Many gaming chairs on the market look like racing chairs, but we wanted to do something different, that breathes IKEA, with everything that entails.”

“The idea with STYRSPEL was to design a dedicated chair for gaming – and at the same time take advantage of the extensive home furnishing knowledge that IKEA has. It had to be good-looking yet have all the necessary features and ergonomics needed when a match drags on for hours and hours. The inspiration for the design comes from the wire-frame models often used in 3D computer graphics. I hope that gamers of all ages will love this chair and want to use it for many years."
