At IKEA, we think everyone deserves a well-designed, functional home – and that paying for it shouldn’t be difficult. That’s why we have multiple payment options for in-store and online shopping, including financial services for when you need a little extra help, which you’ll find on this page.

How to pay at IKEA
Whether you’re buying a new kitchen or just an IKEA hot dog, there are plenty of payment options. Which one is the best for you depends on where you’re shopping – and what you’re buying.
Paying at an IKEA store
We accept all major credit cards, mobile payments like Apple Pay or Google Pay, and cash for instant payments in our stores. But we know that sometimes, you need help bringing your dreams to life. That’s why we offer financial services to as well as an IKEA Gift card, which you can use when shopping in store.

Our online payment options are simple and secure. We accept all major credit cards and mobile payments like Apple Pay or Google Pay. You can also use an IKEA Gift card or an IKEA Refund card when paying online.
Paying on the IKEA app
You can securely pay through the IKEA app using all major credit cards, IKEA Gift cards and IKEA Refund cards, plus mobile payments like Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Scan & Pay
Scan & Pay through the IKEA app lets you save time and avoid queues when shopping in store. If you’ve used this option, you’ll need to pay at the designated Scan & Pay checkout terminals in our IKEA stores. Simply scan the unique QR code and pay – no need to wait in line.
We accept all major credit cards and mobile payments at our Scan & Pay checkouts. If you’d like to use another payment method, please speak to a member of staff who can help you.
Ways to pay
We accept the following cards when making an IKEA payment online and in store:
- Mastercard
- Maestro
- Visa
- Visa Debit
- We accept cash payments at our IKEA stores but find that many of our customers prefer to pay digitally.
- While we can’t accept cash at our stores, we’re sure we can find a solution for you with so many other ways to pay.
- For items up to the value of 270 000 Kč, we accept cash payments at our IKEA stores. If you’re hoping to take home something bigger, we recommend a credit card, mobile payment, IKEA credit card payment or setting up an IKEA payment plan with our finance services.
You can use an IKEA Gift card’s value in full or as partial payment towards something you really love. Just scan or enter the card details by selecting ‘pay with gift card’ when prompted at checkout.
If you’ve been given an IKEA Refund card, you can use it to pay in store or online when you find the thing you really want. Just scan or enter the card details by selecting ‘pay with gift card’ when prompted at checkout.
If you bought a chocolate Advent calendar or a Christmas tree at IKEA, you received discount cards. You can use these cards at any cash desk in IKEA stores. The cards are time limited. You can find their validity on their back side.
Terms of use of the discount card
The discount card can be used at all checkouts in the IKEA store in the country in which the card was issued, the card cannot be used abroad. The card can only be used to pay for goods, not services. If you wish to apply a card to an order, please let us know in advance when creating the order. The value on the card cannot be exchanged for cash or any cash equivalent.

Make secure payments with PayPal when shopping online.
At IKEA Swedish Restaurant it is also possible to pay with Ticket Restaurant and Sodexo Gastro Pass meal vouchers and cards.
At IKEA, children from 1 to 15 years of age can shop for special children’s banknotes – Elk money.

Check the information you’ve entered matches that on the card. If you still have problems, contact your bank or card issuer to find out why your transaction was denied.
If you’re a non-EU resident, business owner shopping abroad, international student, NATO military employee or diplomat, and you purchased something from IKEA in an EU country, you’re entitled to a VAT refund. Please check what the procedures are in your country of residence with your local tax authorities.
